I can't believe it's finally happening! My son! Getting married! I do have to say, it's about time. I'd always wondered why he's never settled down. Even after his first voyage, and he completely turned his life around, settling down was the last thing on his mind.
But I'm glad, now, that he decided to wait so long. That Saytee is a sweetheart, and I don't think I've ever seen Jim light up so bright whenever he looks at her.
Saytee did ask me to be her maid of honor. It wasn't until a few months after they'd returned that they'd actually started to plan the wedding. We were kindred spirits by then.
And today is the big day. I stood at the end of the isle, waiting for my soon-to-be daughter to walk down the isle.
I glanced at Jim. Smiling like he was, he looked just like his father did on our wedding day: excited, yet scared stiff.
