My knees gave out. I felt weak from the sight I'd just witnessed. I couldn't look at anything else but my father's lifeless body across the deck.

My ears rang for just a moment before I heard Saytee scream, and it slapped me back to reality. I picked up the nearest gun, not afraid to shoot anybody who laid a finger on her.

Before I knew it, the remaining members of the opposing crew had surrendered, and my crew was tying them up.

I breathed heavy, looking over at Aaron again. Saytee walked slowly over to me and placed her hand on my shoulder, but I didn't look at her; I went to one of the survivors and slapped him with the heal of My gun.

"Why did you attack us?" I demanded, and the man began to cry. "The RLS Legacy was the ship that escaped Treasure Planet. You destroyed our trove!" He confessed, as if ashamed he was apart of it.

"So Flint's second in charge set off for revenge. We couldn't find you until now." He sobbed. "Now please have mercy on me, I was just following my orders, I never wanted to do this..."

Lies.

What I was about to order was going to be terrible. With anger, I glanced up at the crew and said, "Shoot them all." Saytee gasped and grabbed my shoulder as I started walking away. "Jim, hang on. Think about this." She pleaded.

"Pirates will be hanged anyway..." I argued. But the real reason I wanted them dead was because they killed my father, and Saytee saw through my lie.

She pressed her lips and nodded, understanding. She didn't speak up again, and she didn't look at the crew as they shot the remaining survivors.

Maybe revenge wasn't the right way to go, not that I really care. Besides, it's too late to go back on my word now.

I knelt beside Aaron, feeling tears well up in my eyes. I don't cry, I'm not going to. I stood up again quickly and walked to my room without another word.
