♡ THE CHAELIN THEORY: FROM I NEED YOU TO THE LY HIGHLIGHT REELS ♡

Of course ARMY's were still trying to figure out the story behind "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life"-Series and how it connects to other music videos, such as Spring Day and what the Love Yourself Highlight Reels have got to do with it. One theory was extremely popular and Chaelin was honestly shocked at how close it actually was to what her story was trying to portray:

My guess is that Chaelin's story is portraying her lost childhood. The one she gave up for being an idol. Her story starts with the first highlight reel, in which we see a young Chaelin playing happily on a playground. The guy we thought to be the same one later on? It's not him, that's Jin. He's watching over her, trying to protect her. As Chaelin opens her eyes and sees that exact same playground, now abandoned, it's meant to portray the childhood she left behind.
The next reel starts with Jin saying something along the lines of "Even if this were a dream, this is where I choose to be." Applying this to Chaelin, it means that even if her idol life was a dream, she willingly choses to be there. She loves being a singer, she's said so countless of times. As the boy she is with and her walk along the street and she sees the toys, she seems sad, happy and scared at the same time. Sad, because she had to leave her childhood (the toys), happy because she sees it and scared because she is afraid to be too much of a child, in wake of her career. I don't think Younghoon (Highlight Reel Boy) is meant to be a boyfriend; he symbolises the industry. He drags her away from the shop = The entertainment industry dragged her away from being a child. I mean come on, she started training when she was ten. Not even a teen!

Now the second reel comes in, where we see Chaelin and Younghoon fighting. Maybe it symbolises her fight with being a star? In songs and interviews alike, Chaelin said that it wasn't easy being an idol so young. That it was a "fight" trying to be an idol and young girl at the same time. As she runs away and falls to her knees on that exact same playground, she seems to accept that her childhood is now gone. Her desperate face seems to connect to her poster, on which it says "I wish I could return", meaning, she wants to return to her childhool nonetheless. This is where "I Need U" and "Run" come in. In "I Need U" Chaelin is shown in a small room, seemingly scared and we see her with a crib and teddy bear. What I interpret into this is that, she is scared of the industry (or in this case Younghoon) catching up to her, and fully tearing what is left of her childhood away. When she is with the boys, she seems happier and they also seem protective, in both "Run" and "I Need You". Maybe they are trying to protect her from "Younghoon" (aka the Entertainment Industy) and save what is left of her childhood? As we know, Jin plays a major part in the story. He is seen trying to protect/save everyone but fails and feels guilty. Connecting back to the first scene on the playground with little Chaelin, does that mean he regrets not protecting her childhood and innocence? This is were her WINGS story comes in. In both her own song and Blood Sweat and Tears, Chaelin seems weird. Like she was corrupted (by the industry). As she smiles softly behind Jin as his face cracks, maybe it's like she sees that he too, is being corrupted the way she was? She also almost seems like she isn't actually there. Why? This is were Spring Day comes in. 

Chaelin died. By suicide is my guess. She opened up about being depressed a while back, maybe because the stress of being an idol and not having a childhood was too much for her? That could be the reason for her "suicide". She is first seen on the same rails as Taehyung, in a different outfit, before the screen cut to him. That is her "suicide". Next time she is shown, Chaelin wears a white dress, looking pale but soft, unlike the boys, who look tan. Why is that? Because she passed on. She isn't there anymore. Her rose headband, has white, pink, and one green rose.
Quick colour guide:
White roses symbolise purity, innocence. They can also represent remembrance and new beginnings. In some Asian cultures, white is also the colour of death. In this context, it means that her death is a new beginning for her and that her legacy will be remembered. 
Pink roses symbolise happiness, grace and gladness. In the MV they're symbolising that Chaelin found happiness in passing on, that she passed gracefully and fully embraced it, and that she is glad, that her life is now over.
Now for the last; the green rose. Green roses symbolise life, growth and renewal of energy. In "Spring Day" it's meant to show, that although her "life" is gone now, that she still remains with the boys. Just in a different way (renewal of energy). Also, Chaelin has exactly eleven roses in her flower crown. Eleven roses are meant to reassure the recipient that they are loved and cherished. In this case, however, I think that they are meant to show they boys that she still loves them, despite not being physically there anymore, as in "Spring Day", we see Chaelin watching over the seven boys. What is going to happen next? I don't know. What we do know, however, is that Jin is seemingly trying to fix everything so let's see how this story turns out....
