ARMY's listen up! BTS' Chaelin officially debuts solo!
On the 30th July BigHit Entertainment officially announced the first solo of the female maknae of "BTS".
Only shortly after BTS finished up their promotions for "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.1" and the title track "I NEED U", where the octet got their first win, Chaelin follows with her first mini album "polaroid.". Even before BTS debuted, the 17 year old was meant to debut as a soloist under BigHit, before CEO Bang Si-Hyuk added her to BTS. 

In BigHit's official confirmation for her solo debut, they also confirmed that despite the solo debut, Chaelin would continue to promote as an active BTS member and would only do solo projects on the side. Unlike her bandmates RM and Suga, who both released mixtapes, Chaelin debuts as a proper soloist, with music show schedules and interviews. The tracklist is yet to be released, however fans suspect that much like her bandmates and BTS, Chaelin will be very involved with the tracks.

The official tracklist and teaser have been uploaded! Like suspected, Chaelin has been involved with all six tracks of her first album. The title track is called "bloom" and the teaser left a lot of fans speechless. Chaelin showcased a matured look and the short insight to the song also gave off a mature yet soft sound. THE SONG: "bloom." is a coming of age song. Chaelin sings about how she grew in the spotlight into an adult (her Korean age is 19) and how her life and teenage years were spend becoming who she is now.

2 - Something New
LYRICS: Namjoon, Chaelin - PRODUCED BY: Chaelin, SlowRabbit
THE SONG: The song is about growth as a person and overcoming challenges. The lyrics introduce Chaelin as someone new after a challenge, with a 90's synth beat-something entirely new from her as an artist, making both lyrics and beat fitting.

3 - Breathe 
LYRICS: Jonghyun, Chaelin - PRODUCED BY: Jonghyun, Philtre
THE SONG: "Breathe" is a soulful ballad about having a hard time "taking a breath" when life seems to be against you. It's about anxiety. Chaelin heard the sample of the song when she visited Jonghyun and begged him to let her sing it.

4 - Heroine [B SIDE]

THE SONG: A Heroine is a woman admired for her courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Chaelin expresses a "show must go on" sentiment, following a turbulent relationship. The song has slight tropical house influences and was inspired by the 1986 film 9 1⁄2 Weeks.

5 - Feel So Fine

THE SONG: "Feel So Fine" expresses  finally feeling alright and fully being able to embrace the beauty of the world again. Chaelin only opened up about her depression and anxiety way later into her career, but fans suspected that things might have been different behind the scenes after knowing she wrote the song.

6 - OUTRO: polaroid.

THE SONG: "polaroid" compares life to a beautifully taken polaroid and how, essentially, it's only a snippet of your life and that good moments will come and go, but the beauty in life remains; just how it does in the polaroid picture.
