♡ THE MC INCIDENT [REQUESTED] ♡

The original request was to have Chaelin deal with a rude interviewer/MC. I hope the person who requested this is happy :)

DISCLAIMER: I DON'T WANT TO BADMOUTH ANYBODY, SAN-E WAS SIMPLY THE FIRST PERSON ON MY MIND! I like his music and I don't believe he is that kind of person.

There weren't many times that Chaelin did solo interviews or solo TV appearances. Mainly because she was busy but after an incident in early 2018, she discontinued it because of a particular rude MC. San-E, the former first solo rapper of JYP Entertainment. After that, everyone knew it as the "San-E incident". San-E, TWICE's Nayeon, EXO's Suho and Xiumin and Chaelin were set to MC a K-Pop show in March. Backstage already, whilst Nayeon was still getting ready, Suho, Chaelin and Xiumin were talking and laughing together, when San-E came along. Respectfully, they all bowed. He was their senior after all. However, San-E didn't really seem to care for any of the EXO boys-but rather for Chaelin. "Well hello there beautiful," he said, a bright smile on his face. Suho and Xiumin only raised their eyebrows. "Your dress looks amazing I have to say," San-E continued, looking her up and down. Chaelin's dress did look good, yes. It complimented her skin tone, brought out her eyes and hair. But it was also very short, and judging by his comment, Chaelin didn't need to think twice about what he was implying. Playing it off, Chaelin simply smiled and said "Thank You".

Now, nobody really knew what was happening backstage, but fans were mad at what was happening onstage.

As soon as they all stepped down the stairs and onto the stage, San-E wrapped his arm around Chaelin's as if to "support her" walking down, though everybody noticed how confident and safe Chaelin walked; even if the heels she wore were high. Clearly looking shocked, Chaelin shot a look at San-E who only smirked at her, before waving towards the crowd. When they started MC-ing, things were okay for a while. Chaelin, being the cute smol bean that she is, started acting cutely of the cameras as everyone was waiting for the first performer, when all of a sudden, San-E jumped in again. "Aww look at you!" he said, taking her cheek and squeezing it roughly. Nayeon, Suho and Xiumin looked at him with wide eyes, quickly trying to distract everyone as Chaelin was trying to grasp the situation as well. She tried to switch places so that she in-between Suho and Xiumin, who wouldn't do anything of the type. Generally, she knew that things like that could happen-Male fans had done so before. But she felt really uncomfortable with it.

So when the first two performers were through and the five MC's went back on the stage, San-E suddenly wrapped an arm around Chaelin's waist and yelled "PRINCESS AND KING KOREA IN THE HOUSE!" through the mic, showing Chaelin off like a trophy. That also seemed to be the final straw for Xiumin, who immediately pulled Chaelin out of it and in-between him and Nayeon. Chaelin was shaking slightly, her cheeks red from embarrassment and her eyes wide with shock. She knew she had to play it off as a professional, but still, she was glad when Nayeon took over for a while. Nothing happened there from then on, and Chaelin noticed San-E's manager scolding him when they were backstage for a break. Then however, the end of the show came and the five MC's were asked to sing parts of their own songs that had recently come out or had been popular. Nayeon sang a few lines of "CHEER UP", Suho and Xiumin "Love Me Right" and Chaelin sang a few lines of "Spring Day", wanting to include her bandmates as well. She didn't know it, but they were at home watching the show, angry at San-E's behaviour. When it was his turn, he rapped a few lines of "Sour Grapes" and whilst rapping the lines "수컷 follower 득실 대 니 인스타그램 look at her picture 자동반사 텐트치게 돼", which would translate to "Male followers for your Instagram look at her picture, auto-reaction to make a tent " (tent =erection) he pointed at Chaelin and looked her up and down again. All of the MC's played it off well enough, but as soon as the show ended, Chaelin raced home, never having felt so uncomfortable before. She felt as if she was humiliated on national TV and the whole incident caused a wave all over Twitter, ARMY's being angered by the rappers behaviour. BigHit later felt the need to release a statement, in which hey quickly explained that everything was fine but that, however, Chaelin would not MC a show anytime soon.
