When "Serendipty" came out, ARMY's speculated quite early that it was about Chaelin. Ever since Chaelin's eighteenth birthday, Netizens had speculated that something was going on between Namjoon and the youngest member and the "proof" accompanied by the speculations, as well as the silence by BigHit also had ARMY's questioning whether or not something was going on between them. So when it was revealed that Namjoon wrote the lyrics for Serendipity, theories weren't too far away.

Ok so: When Chaelin turned 18, Netizens suddenly spread the rumour that something deeper was going on between Chaelin and Namjoon. There were some pictures going around-If you have forgotten about them, here they are:

Now especially the last one caused a haywire of rumours. Whilst we do not know whether or not it is actually Namjoon and Chaelin, it's suspicious that BigHit hasn't given any statement. It's unlike them. Remember when Chaelin and Suho had dating rumours? Or when it was Chaelin and Choi Siwon? BigHit intervened IMMEDIATELY! Some ARMY's speculated that simply not saying anything might be BigHit's version of "Yes they are dating". We know that Chaelin is a fairly private person. She doesn't share a lot of her actual private life-The plastic surgery thing not included. She has said before that she does not want to date publicly. Whereas Namjoon has openly said that if he dates, we will know. Maybe this is also a sort of compromise between them. Now, what was also adding to the couple theory, was that they were seen wearing couple items and that Chaelin also wore Namjoon's sweater on numerous occasions. Something she has not done before with any of the others. They also became quite more touchy with each other.
