It had been close to a month and Chaelin had yet to wake up. The swelling in her brain had gone down enough for the doctors to finish the surgery they had started and Chaelin had survived it just fine. Her injuries were all healing well. She was still in a medically induced coma, but the odds seemed to be in her favour and her doctors were sure she'd wake up soon.
It was a very warm July day and for the first time, all of the boys were allowed in her room in the ICU. Her doctor came in just a few minutes prior and told them, that she had started to breathe on her own and they slowly reduced the doses of propofol, the drug they used to put her into that coma. Around midday, Chaelin slowly started to stir before at 1:30, she finally opened her eyes again.

Kim Chaelin (18), the only female member of Kpop Group BTS has awoken from her coma! After the young girl was involved in a car crash in early June after returning from a promotional event, the singer was in a medically induced coma for about a month before her agency BigHit Entertainment shared that she has awoken on Thursday midday and is recovering well and most likely going to be released from the hospital within the next week.
The idol, who was promoting her second solo album "palette." before her accident, returned from filming a comeback stage at the CJ E&M studios with her manager, when her car was t-boned by an oncoming truck. Whilst her manager only sustained mild injuries, Chaelin had to be resuscitated at the scene before she was taken to Seoul National University Hospital where she underwent surgery for cranial and abdominal injuries. The young singer was then put into a medically induced coma for reasons her family did not want to share. BigHit Entertainment immediately halted all promotions of all their artists, whereas fans and friends of the singer alike expressed their grief and hope all over SNS.
Chaelin's solo album charted for nearly two weeks on Gaon, one week on number one, whereas her songs "Woman", "What I Wish I Could Tell You Now" and "The Rain" charted on numbers one to three for three weeks in total. Now, a little over a month after her accident Chaelin seems to have recovered from her injuries and is, according to a statement issued by her management, thankful for all the love and support she received.
