I'm sorry this is late. I'm not sure if you know, but I am chronically ill. On Saturday evening, I suddenly lost my hearing on my right side (right before BTS' performance on MMA yay. Still watched it though). It's not permanent, I'll have to take medication for the next two weeks. Still, as someone who is used to have better than average hearing and is relying on that a lot it was a shock so the update got delayed. I'm very sorry for that 🙁💜

BigHit Entertainment releases statement on Chaelin after car crash

BigHit Entertainment finally released a statement on BTS' Chaelin's condition! The singer was involved in a car crash on Thursday night, after returning from filming a comeback stage at the CJ E&M Studios for her second solo comeback "palette.". Her van was t-boned by an oncoming truck, injuring her manager and Chaelin in the process. Whilst her manager only sustained mild injuries, it was already revealed by witnesses that Chaelin was in a bad condition at the scene of the accident.
Her agency BigHit Entertainment published a statement on early Friday morning, written by BigHit's CEO, Bang Si-Hyuk. According to the statement, Chaelin suffers from broken bones, as well as several abdominal and cranial injuries and was in an eleven-hour surgery, before being put in a medical induced coma, for reasons her family does not wish to share at the moment. Finally, Bang Si-Hyuk asked both fans and the media alike to give her family and BTS the privacy they need right now.
Fans still share their grief and hope all over SNS, with the hashtags #PrayForChaelin and #StayStrongChaelin still trending nearly two days later. Her second mini album "palette.", which she promoted at the time before her accident, is on top of all Korean Album charts and her songs "What I Wish I Could Tell You Now", "The Rain" and "Woman" are all charting within the top ten.

Chaelin had suffered a stroke during her surgery and after her doctors deemed it unsafe to continue, they had put her in a medical induced coma, waiting for any swelling to go down and her injuries to heal. Outside of the hospital, fans had put down dozen of roses and it looked more like a field in spring, rather than a hospital entrance. The boys had only left the hospital to sleep and shower, before they were back and at their maknae's side. Jin and his family were crazily worried and none of the boys had ever seen the oldest of the band cry as much as he did when he was first allowed to see Chaelin. Her room in the ICU was very cold and sterile, so unlike Chaelin's pink room at the dorms, that was filled with life. Only one person at a time was allowed in the room and they all talked to her about their day and how much they wished she was with them.
