It was around 10 o'clock on a Saturday night and the gang was just winding down from a day of hysterics and hilarity. They had just set up the mattresses and the pull-out couch in the basement and were about to start watching a movie when the storm started. El had always hated thunderstorms, the loud noises terrified her and it sounded to her like the world was falling apart.

Mike and El lay on the pull out couch, Mike holding onto her as she buried her head in his chest, clinging onto his waist tightly. Usually the others would tease them but they knew how the storms petrified her, and how she really needed Mike's and their support. None of them were really watching the TV, they were all concerned about El, especially Mike. Seeing her this distraught killed him, and he wished he could do something more to soothe her.

Once the movie ended, Karen came downstairs to tell them all to go to bed. Before she went to her bed, Max got up and hugged El. "It's gonna be alright" she whispered into El's ear "And remember, Mikes got you. He would never, in a million years let anything hurt you." El smiled gratefully at her friends comforting words and walked over to the couch, crawling under the covers and snuggling into Mike's side.

3 hours later and everyone else had fallen asleep. Mike and El both lay awake, El still scared of the loud sounds around her. Mike didn't realise she was crying until he heard a loud sob. He immediately sat up, guiding her with him. He hugged her, whispering "I'm right here" over and over again and stroking her hair until her cries subsided. He delicately lifted her face to his and looked in her beautiful eyes. He sweetly kissed her, and then lay back down, her quickly joining and snuggling into him again. Before falling asleep, she lifted her head again and kissed him, then she laid back down, getting some much needed rest. Mike didn't sleep that night, he wanted to make sure that his beautiful girlfriend was okay.

Max observed the whole scene from her mattress. After learning about El's past, she was so glad that she found someone who made her so happy and feel so safe. It was true that Mike could soothe her like no one else. El had privately told her that Mike was the first person who ever showed her love, the first person she ever trusted. Max could see the change they brought to each other and she was so happy that Mike had accepted her into the party. El truly was like his missing piece, she made him whole again.
