So I was eating a popsicle and this just kinda came to me, so here ya go. I imagine this takes place around summer time in the year El was gone. Basically Lucas is in a really bad mood cause Erica has pissed him off, and in his rage he says some stuff he doesn't mean to Mike. For the record, I love Lucas with my whole heart, but for this scenario I thought he would be the most likely to get mad so that's why I wrote him being an asshole.

"Son of a bitch Lucas!" Dustin yelled as Lucas burst through the Henderson's front door, causing Dustin's tower of playing cards to go falling to the floor. "I spent a good hour on that!"

Will and Mike looked over from the couch as the two boys started their usual bickering. Lucas was fuming, and if he were a cartoon character there would be steam pouring out his ears.

Mike sighed and buried his face in his hands. He was sick of the constant arguments with Dustin and Lucas, and he wasn't exactly in the right mindset to tolerate it.

"Lucas can you please calm down, take a sedative or something, Jesus."

Lucas turned to face Mike so quickly that Will was surprised he didn't get whiplash.

"Shut UP Mike! Erica be-headed all my Star Wars figurines and I am so not in the mood for your mopey emo bullshit!"
Mike's face quickly turned from annoyed to enraged and Will could sense a Lucas and Mike blowout coming.
"My WHAT?" Mike yelled, jumping over the couch and standing in front of Lucas, arms crossed. He had started his growth spurt and stood a few inches taller than Lucas, causing him to look down at him.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about! Ever since November you've been all, 'oh poor me! Look how sad I am! A girl I knew for a week disappeared so now I'm depressed all the time!' If anyone should be acting like that, it should be Will, so you should get your head out of your ass Mike!"

If Mike was mad before, now he was now positively fuming, face contorted into an expression of pure anger.

"Guys just calm down okay! We shouldn't-"
"Shut up Dustin!" Mike cut him off, stepping closer to Lucas.
"We get it okay Mike! You liked her, now she's gone! We care about her just as much as you do, but we want our friend back!" Lucas yelled.

"NO LUCAS! You don't 'get it' okay?!" Mike's anger overflowed as he raged on his friend.
"Sure you guys cared, but it's not the same! So I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry I'm not who I used to be, but ever since that night a huge part of me has been ripped away and you can't expect me to just pretend! You can't expect me to pretend I'm still the same person, because I'm not. IM NOT THE SAME WITHOUT HER! And I'm sorry, but none of you care about her like I do. Because I don't just care about her, I LOVE HER. I love her! And I don't care if I'm only thirteen, or that I only knew her for a week. I don't care if she's a 'telekinetic weirdo,' or if she can't talk properly, I love her! And those feelings aren't gonna disappear just because she did!"

Mike took a step back, tears now streaming down his face. He looked around at his friend's shocked and concerned faces before sprinting through the front door, grabbing his bike and riding away.

"Holy shit." Dustin exclaimed, sitting down on the couch beside Will, both of them grappling with their friend's confession. Lucas sat down on the beanbag in front of them. "Jesus Christ. I fucked up! I'm such a- I'm the worst friend!"
Dustin shook his head. "You're not Lucas! None of us knew he felt like that, and you were just mad! You didn't mean any of what you said, I know you didn't."

Lucas just looked down at his lap. "We have to fix this." He exclaimed before getting up and running into Dustin's kitchen, Will and Dustin following suit.

2 hours later the three boys parked their bikes outside the Wheeler house, approaching the basement door. "You got the bag Will?" Lucas asked quietly, a look of guilt still on his face. Will nodded and Lucas took a deep breath before opening the door.

The boys entered, going straight over to the fort. Their eyes fell on Mike, curled up between the blankets, his face pressed into a pillow. His sobs could be heard, muffled from the cushion. They kneeled down in the entrance, looking at their friend with tears in their eyes. "Mike." Lucas started, crawling into the fort. Mike looked up from the pillow, his face tear-ridden, an expression of despair written all over it. "I'm so sorry. I was mad, and I had no right to go off on you like that. I- I didn't mean any of it. I had no idea you felt like that." More tears spilled down Mike's cheeks. "I love her. And I don't think I've felt any real emotion except sadness since she left." His voice was thick with heartbreak.

Tears were now streaming down Lucas, Dustin and Will's faces as Lucas wrapped his arms around Mike, hugging him tightly. Will and Dustin soon joined and the four of them sat hugging in the fort. They slowly pulled away and Will grabbed a bag from behind him. He produced a box of Eggos, smiling meekly. Mike just nodded as Will opened it and handed him a waffle. The four of them sat in the cramped fort, eating Eggos.

And maybe he didn't have El, but right now his friends were all he needed.
