Emma's POV
Watching on in horror, I see Louis fly one way and the Headmaster the other. Harry immediately runs to Louis, and Liam to Mr Smith. Squinting my eyes, I notice the tell tale signs of the path that they moved through; all the dust has moved out of the air where they flew through, but even as I am watching the dust moves back again. Turning I see Louis being helped up and it appears as though he isn't really hurt at all, although he is placing an arm around Harry, who is helping him along. Liam has managed to get the Headmaster up, and Mr Smith turns to us all. Peering at him it seems as though something is off with him, but I can't put my finger on it. Before I even get the chance to think further, he addresses us.
"What are you twelve doing out of bed?" he asks, looking at us sternly. Aisha gently weaves her way through the group before coming to a halt in front of the man. Headmaster Smith must be about twenty five and wears glasses. His messy black hair looks permanently like he has run his hands through it and if you didn't know it you wouldn't guess that he is our leading teacher, he looks more like a grad student. Yet even though he looks like this, he always acts as though he has seen too many things, and he has lived too long. Aisha peers up at him as he towers over her, putting her 5ft 9" height to shame with his over 6ft.
"I'm really sorry Sir." she says, sincerity ringing throughout her voice. "You see we were exploring the new school and we accidentally lost track of time. We have been trying to find our way for a while now." And the incredible thing is, although Aisha doesn't tell the whole truth, she doesn't lie and also manages to make us appear innocent. Looking around I see the others responding with swift nods. Turning to watch the interaction between Mr Smith and Aisha again, I see a faint smile appear on his face.
"Well." he starts. "I suppose I can't fault you, what with this being our first day at this school and all. But I must say I didn't expect to be taught how to fly today." And with that, he lets out a small laugh, and it is easier to imagine him as a teenager.
"I am so so so so sorry, Sir." says Louis. "I wasn't looking where I was going and I am terribly lucky no one got hurt." Turning wide eyes on the Headmaster, Louis looks at him with a look of utter despair on his face. Louis' tail is drooped and so are his ears and he looks down in a dejected way.
"It's alright Mr Tomlinson, I know you didn't mean any harm." replies Mr Smith, placing a hand on his shoulder. In that moment I notice something I hadn't before. When he moves rather than the dust being forced apart by the person's body like it is for everyone, it gently moves away in small waves even before he touches the dust. Weird. Aisha steps forward and because I was so focused on Sir's weird dust repulsion, I am amazed to see that the exact same thing happens when Aisha moves. Spinning swiftly I focus on Christina. She sways to the side and I see the dust behaving normally, appearing to bounce off her body. Turning back I confirm what I saw before. The dust is moving away before they even touch.
*That's so weird!* is all I can think. Suddenly another presence enters my conscience and I jump in surprise.
*What's weird?* thinks Aisha to me.
*Doesn't matter.* is all I send back, but almost immediately there is a reply but not in the way I expected.
*Emma... what is happening to your necklace?* she asks, and I am shocked to realise I haven't thought about it. Immediately I reach a hand down to my neck and feel the gem underneath my shirt. Discretely I peer under the collar and am almost blinded with the white light that shines out. My gem is glowing yet again. When my gem glows I know there is a spirit nearby, and the brighter it is the closer the spirit. Unfortunately I can't tell if the spirit IS a spirit, or if it is a demon like the ones down below.
