Encourage one another and build each other up. - 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Being a cruel person, that is an everyday thing in today's society. We gossip behind our someone's back, call each other names, spread nasty rumors, pull mean pranks on someone, and even get violent. We as people don't need that, we do not need to get violent.

I would rather say nice things about someone then say nasty things. We need to encourage each other and that is just what that verse says. It doesn't matter whether we are Christians or not. All of us as people need to build each other up. Tearing someone down, that can lead you to feel good for one second. But for them it could make them feel bad for years.

We just really need to think about this. Would we want someone to do that to us? What would your grandma say if she saw you doing that? More importantly, what would Jesus say?

We can do many bad things in our lives, and be forgiven of them. In that moment, you are not acting the way He wants you to act. Think about those things the next time you want to tear someone down and not build them up.

Dear God,

Please help for me to just build people up. I want to be a light for you, and I can't do that saying nasty things about people. Whether it be to their face or behind their back. Just guide me in not saying hurtful things and doing as you tell me. Let me live like you, and live in the way of love.
In your name I pray,

Amen
