Do not be anxious about anything. - Philippians 4:16

Around the end of August to the start of September is back to school season. A season of seeing pictures on Facebook of 6 year olds with backpacks bigger than their bodies and a time of parents celebrating their kids not be home.

But all jokes aside school is a time for worries and nervousness. It is a time for high schoolers to figure out what friends are in their classes and for college freshmen to make those new friends. It is a time where you go into class and see everyone you don't know, you seem all alone for an hour. It seems like that hour is your life and that it couldn't end sooner. But whatever you are feeling just know that God is with you.

He is with you in the classroom for the tests, essays, presentations, with you for all friends you will make and he is with you through all of the stress that school can bring. Just know that no matter how anxious you get God will be there with you and you don't have to be anxious when God is with you. He will help to take that anxiety away, if we just get into His word.

I am starting this new season of my life and I have gotten so much anxiety over it. I have changed my classes, asked to many questions to too many people, questioned why I was even doing what I was doing, cried to my parents about it and even had panic attacks about it. I know first hand that anxiety is real and that it won't go away. But God can make it better, He will help us to make it better. All we have to do is ask him and get into his word.

Dear God,

Please help for this school year to be a fresh start for all of us. Help for it to be a new season of growth and learning. Just take away all anxiety we may get from a new school year approaching and throw it out the window. We can't control what happens in our lives, but you are the one who is in control. Help for us to put our trust in you and just know that you have it handled.
In your son's name I pray,
Amen.
