Jesus Loves You - Devotional

Pslam 118:6

(Before we start this chapter, I just wanted to say that I may have written about this verse before. But I am just feeling these emotions right now and I need this verse. Someone else might need it so I am writing about it.)

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. - Pslam 118:6

Have you ever been up at two in the morning just scrolling on your phone and then you hear a noise outside your bedroom window. Or you hear the sound of a dog barking, a creak in the floor boards outside your bedroom door or maybe just someone opening a door. Now all of those sounds are fine, when it isn't two in the morning. All of those worries and anxieties start speaking in your brain.

Someone is breaking into my house.

I'm going to get killed because someone is in my house. Am I right with God yet? Will I even go to Heaven?

What if someone kills me and my family? What will become of us?

What about my dog, no one can hurt my dog.

Oh it is just someone using the rest room, oh wait it is just me in the house.

All of those thoughts and fears rush into our brain. Since we are only human they are there and we don't know what to do in those moments. But there is one thing we can do, we can pray. Pray to God about your worries and your fears. Pray to Him about everything that is going through your mind and about how scared you are.

He wants us to trust him and trust him enough that we give him the fear. He will take our fear, we just need to give it to him.

Dear God,

Please take my fear at 2 am or my fear at a grocery store when I am alone. Take my fear when I am walking around or when a man approaches me. Please help for my fears to be dismissed and for me to know that you have ahold of me. You can take my fears and wash them away. You are on my side and I have nothing to fear. Please help for me and everyone else to just remember that, that you are on our side.
