A smile at nine in the morning on a school day, that is hard for me and I bet that is hard for anyone who isn't a morning person. But you know who it wasn't hard for? It wasn't hard for Jesus.

Jesus showed kindness to everyone He met along the way and we should do just that. "Kind words are like honey sweet to the soul." - Proverbs 16:24. Now has kids we are always told to be nice to our neighbors and be respectful to our elders. Most of us did that, but we never really knew what impact that had on our people's lives. Now we may not today still, but with Jesus in our lives our impact of kindness could mean so much more.

Kind words are sweet to the soul and really put a smile on our faces. We love when people compliment us out of the blue and make our day feel ten times better. Even a smile in the hallway makes us feel good, but sometimes we just don't have the "energy" to do that.

Trust me if you have the energy to get a coffee in the morning, you have the energy to give someone a smile.

Jesus wants us to spread His love to others in the world and that can be through many different things. Some ways we could spread Jesus to others is through preaching, writing, creating art, dancing, playing an instrument, doing a sport or maybe just giving someone a smile. God uses each of us to reach people that the person beside us can't.

Just a daily reminder that when you don't think you can spread Jesus to someone, just give them a smile or give them a compliment. God can use those good words in ways we can't imagine.

"Be kind." - Ephesians 4:32

Dear God,

Please help for me to bring a smile to someone's face today. Help for me to be that ray of sunshine in their life. We all need a little light in our life and we can be that.
Just help for me to show you to the word around me. You are what they should see in me and I know you can use me in that way. Thank you for all that you do in my life.
In your son's name I pray,
Amen.
