I don't remember a lot of things. What can I say? Last night was a memory too terrible that I didn't want to remember.  Last night was a blur. Running. That's the word that first comes to mind. The simple slapping of my shoes on the sidewalk. I slowly forced myself to remember more. A voice.

"Run, don't stop, don't look back, just keep running Nataly!"

Dad. They were after him. Gunshots were heard behind me. "Keep running! Don't look back!" echoed off the walls of the now dim streets. I was a good girl. I didn't look back.

I remember how dad had caught up. He had pulled me into a dark alleyway and we hid behind a tall stack of boxes.

"Nataly, there are too many of them," he whispers.

"We're a dynamic duo, dad, they can't get us. I won't let them," I said, defiance in my voice.

"Sweetie, even you can't stop a hurricane," his eyes drained of the one thing that had always been there: hope.

"Dad, we can get out of this, both of us," I say. He looks down at his shoes.

"No, don't even think that way. I'm your daughter, I know what you're planning. No, you can't do that," I grab his shoulders and force him to look at me.

Voices start to grow louder. "I think they went in here!"

"Don't worry, we"ll find them."

"Here Nataly, take this," he takes off his slingbag and gives it to her. "There's a ticket in there, an airplane ticket to London. Go there, your mom's there, safe and sound. They won't be able to find you there," he grabs her face and looks her in the eye.

He turns and opens a grate. "In there sweetie. Go to London. Make a new life there. I'll escape and meet you both there. We'll be a family Nataly, safe, sound, happy. I promise you," he kisses her on the forehead.

The voices grew louder. "You promise, daddy?" she says before climbing in the grate. " I promise. And remember one thing, my princess. I love you, and always, always remember, that you'll never walk alone."

He puts the grate back on and Nataly melts into the shadows. "Go find Catelyn. She'll help you." he turns as the men in their uniforms knock over the boxes.

"Where is she?" one asks.

"Where's who?" my dad looks up at the man's face.

"The girl! Your daughter!" another demands.

"Boys, back up a second," the leader walks up.

"Where's Nataly? Without her, our plan means nothing. We need a natural born leader," he smiles evilly down at my dad.

" I won't ever let you use my daughter as one of your science experiments!" my dad defies.

"Cute, seize him. But keep him alive, he might be just what we need to lure our little Nataly to us," the man turns and walks away. The men grab my dad and drag him away. I can't keep the tears from sliding down my face. But my dad gave me a mission. I crawl down the grate and come out on the other side of the wall. I stay to the dark alleys and make my way closer to Catelyn's house.

As I arrive, Catelyn opens the door and lets me in. "You knew what he was up to all along, didn't you Cat?" I asked her. My best friend looked at the floor.

"Whatever, I'm flying to London. But as soon as I'm done settling there, I'm going to find him. And no one's going to stop me," I sneer. "But your dad said-"

"foreget what he said, he promised me! And if I've learned anything from being on the run from these science monkeys it's that a promise can't be completed on one's own!" I feel dizzy, as the shock of the fact that my dad was imprisoned, settles in.

I lay on the couch, Catelyn goes to her room. As my eyes closed, four words bounced around in my skull. You'll never walk alone.

~Hi just a quick author's note :)
