When I arrived at the cinema, the first thing I saw was Niall leaning against the side of the building. His hair glowed in the bright sunlight. Sunlight, something that I haven't seen in four years. Now that  I was actually acting like a normal teenager, I really had been cut off from the world for a very long time.

He looked up and when he saw me, a big, bright smile lit up his face. His eyes twinkled.

I waved and walked over to him.

"Hey," he keeps smiling.

"Hi," I really couldn't help but smile back.

"So, umm, let's go on in. What movie you'd like to watch?" he smiles, putting his arm around me and leading me towards the door. I tensed the slightest bit when he made contact with my skin. It was a natural defense. The only time someone touched me was either my dad leading me through a sewer or some guy trying to strap me into some contraption. I've never had someone touch me out of affection, except maybe Catelyn.

"I don't really know what movies are out," I blush. Great. Sounding stupid. Wait, why do I care? He's just a friend... Then why are there butterflies in your stomach silly? My concience teased. Shut up I think back.

We end up picking a new romantic comedy.  He buys us some popcorn and drinks and we take our seats up in the back. I have to admit, I really didn't even pay attention to the movie.

Stupid! Watch the movie! That's what you're here for! I shout at myself. But no matter how many times I yell at myself ( in my head ) my teen side automatically steals glances at him. And what made me happier? The fact that I caught him stealing glances at me, too. When he'd catch my eye, he'd blush.

Finally the movie ended and the lights went up. We walked outside to be blinded by the sunlight.

"So how did you like the movie?" I asked trying to make conversation.

"To be honest, I didn't really pay that much attention to the movie," he laughed nervously.

"I'm going to be perfectly honest with you, too. I didn't really pay attention to the movie either," I giggled nervously, too.

He smiled.

"Ok, then, cinema isn't really the best place to hang out. So scratch that off the list," he said smiling at the ground and looking up at me through his long eyelashes.

Wow, he has beautiful eyes I found myself thinking. And then I giggled. He smiled bigger.

"Why don't we go to a little park I know?" he suggests, nodding in a direction.

"Sure," I smile. What? Niall is a person that just makes you automatically smile. He slid his fingers and twisted them with mine. Then we strolled off through the streets of London.

Sunlight burned my back as we strolled into a park. Birds flew in and out of the trees, chirping and singing merrily. Happy couples were walking and holding hands, kind of like me and Niall. Little boys and girls rode by on their bikes with their parents walking a little behind them. People rolled ice cream and hot dog carts up and down the path. Everything is so peaceful.

"Wow," I say, taking everything in.

"Beautiful, huh?" Niall smiled at the dirt crunching beneath our feet.

"ooh, they have hiking trails?" I say pointing at a sign that shouted out "Hiking Trails!"

"Yeah. you like to hike?" Niall looks at me questioningly.

"Yea it was something me and my dad used to do..." I trail off. Dad used to take me on little hiking trips through the woods next to our house. We escaped into those woods that day... I'd been on the run ever since, no more hiking trips with dad. Not even now when we're supposed to be 'free'.

"What happened to your dad?" Niall asks. I look up. His light eyes are full of concern.

'I can't really talk about it," I feel my eyes well up.

"Nataly, I know we don't really know each other that much, but I know we're friends. I just want you to know that you can trust me with anything," he gives my hand a reassuring squeeze like the one I gave him last night.

"I wish I can tell you," I wipe away the tears that had escaped.

"Then tell me," he lets go of my hand and gives me a hug. " Thanks, I needed that," I wiped away more tears.

He pulls back to look at me. "please tell me," he makes puppy-dog eyes.

I put on a serious face and looked him in the eye. His face suddenly turned serious, too. He could tell I wasn't joking. I felt tears welling up and spilling out of my eyes as I looked him in the eye.

"No, no don't cry, please," he held my head to his chest and let me cry it all out. My life is a huge mess. I'm a huge mess.

"I'm sorry," I sniffle.

"What are friends for?" he smiles. I smiled back, half-heartedly.

I look him in the eye and say," I really wish I can tell you, but it can put you in serious danger, and I don't want to put anyone in danger. I'll tell when the time comes, but it's not now," I bite my lip.

"Don't worry, Nataly, I understand," he smiles at me encouragingly.

"Well, come on, we've got a trail to hike!" he grabs my hand and pulls me towards the trail.

----------------------------------

I laughed as Niall stumbled out of the bushes.

"Need food! And water!" he pants grabbing at my leg.

"Get up from the ground," I laugh as I help him up.

We walk to the nearest hot dog vendor and he buys us two hotdogs. he wolfs his down and I laugh.

We keep walking through the park. We sit down at a little park bench overlooking a beautiful vast lake. Niall wraps his arm around my shoulder. But this time I don't flinch because I know that the person beside me will never do anything to hurt me. I know that he'll be there for everything. A person I can trust with anything. Even my secret. But that's for later. As the sun starts to set, I lay my head on his shoulder. And when my head touches his shoulder I think, It's good to be free.
