~Quick Author's Note
Well, all my directioners (basically all my readers :) ) today we celebrate our boys' 2 year anniversary :D I'm going to admit, I wasn't there from the very beginning, but I'm going to be there until the very end. I'm not a fan, I'm a Directioner. Fans leave when things go bad, but a Directioner will always stay <3 keep reading everyone :). xx
My body is covered in bruises. I'm balck and blue all over.
Finally, after the last punch, the man smiles, obviously amused with my pain. I let out one last groan. He smirks.
Reynolds walks in, his stupid white labcoat flowing behind him. I make sure to wipe all pain from my face. No way is he getting the pleasure of seeing me like this.
He leans close to me. His breath slaps me in the face.
I give him my deadliest glare.
"If looks could kill, eh, kid?" he muttered. Then he smiled.
I just continued to glare.
"You really are tough to break," he observes. He turns to the man.
"Ronald. Starting tomorrow, we'll beat him four times a day and beat him twice as hard. Those bruises are going to be nothing compared to what happens next," he growled. And with that, he spun on his heel and left.
"See you tomorrow for breakfast," Ronald smiled menacingly.
And he closed the door.
I slumped in my chair. My body screamed for me to just give up. But I knew I wasn't a weakling.
These blows were worth every bruise.
While they were focusing on making me suffer, they were spending less time focusing on finding her.
I was taking these blows for her. As long as I was here, she was safe.
Knowing that she was safe is what kept me going these last 3 days. That's what kept me from giving up.
So did knowing that they could swoop in and save me any minute now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I could hear my guard snoring outside my door.
I was already used to the pounding in my bruises and the rope burns.
I tilted my head so that it's resting on the back of the chair, facing the square hole that let me see the sky outside.
Suddenly, the guard snoring stopped. I didn't hear him wake up. No one ever wakes up. Everybody in this stinking joint falls asleep and doesn't wake up until morning.
Was he awake? And if he was, then what woke him up?
I heard some thudding outside the door. Then I heard a soft jingling. Well, everything sound soft. I've taken some blows to the ears as well.
The lock clicked.
Nataly and Catelyn walked in.
"Nataly!" I whisper-shouted.
They rushed over to me and tenderly removed the ropes.
As soon as I was free, I wrapped my arms around Nataly. She hugged me back gently, seeing the bruises covering my chest and arms.
When we pulled away, her lips crashed onto mines. Just then I realized just how much I missed her.
She pulled away and I smiled. She grabbed my hand and started pulling me towards the door.
Once she noticed my limp, she let me go slower.
"Where are the others?" I asked, still dazed from the kiss.
"Liam's waiting down this hall, Zayn and Louis are keeping an eye on the perimeter-"Nataly explains.
"Inside and out," Catelyn adds smiling.
"And then Harry is waiting for us in the car," Nataly finished.
"Eleanor is keeping an eye on Reynolds," Catelyn added.
We reach the end of the hallway, where Liam is waiting in the shadows.
"Niall," he breathes, relief in his voice.
"Liam," I smile.
"Good to see you again, buddy, now let's go," Liam moves aside to reveal an open vent.
Catelyn crawls in first. I hear a snap and then there's a soft green glow. I hear footsteps and I turn to see Louis and Zayn running towards us.
"Guards, coming, NOW!" Louis pants.
Louis, Zayn and Liam reach into their pockets and pull out small silver syringes. Inside is a turqoise blue liquid. The guards turn and see us at the end of the hallway. They start running towards us but as they reach us, Louis lunges forward and punches one in the face.
Zayn runs up the wall and pushes off, landing behind another of the guards. He stabs the syringe into the man's neck.
The man started to convulse and fell to the ground. Then he started shaking and finally stopped moving.
Liam punched the last guard in the stomach, then he kicked him sharply in the face. Then he stuck his syringe into the man's arm. He does the same as his companion then stops moving. Louis had done the same.
"What's in there?" I asked.
"The same thing that Reynolds is trying to use on Nataly, now let's go!" Liam says, shoving us towards the vent.
Inside the vent, Nataly handed me a glow stick. I snapped it and used it's glow to see where I was going. Louis closed the vent and we were safe for the moment.
We came out through a vent in the side of the warehouse. I look around. Harry is running towards us.
"Harry?! Where's the car?" Liam asks, outraged.
"They came at me. They were chasing Eleanor, and then they came at me. The only way I was able to survive is getting the heck out of there," Harry pants.
"Where's Eleanor?" Louis asks, concerned.
"She cam and warned me about the guards. She told me Reynolds had found out we were here. He sent off those guards to get us. Then she ran back inside. We have to get out of here now and quickly!" Harry hurried us.
"I'm not leaving without my girlfriend!" Louis shouted.
"Niall, can't walk that fast! He's limping! He's hurt bad, Harry," Nataly argued.
"Nataly, you take Niall to the clearing where the sewer entrance is. Zayn, Catelyn, and I will take care of the guards. Harry, Louis, you go back inside and find Eleanor. We'll meet in the clearing. Ok? Go!" Liam directed us. Everyone ran in opposite directions. Before we left, Liam handed Nataly and I one of the syringes. "Just in case," he says folding it in her hand.
Then he sprinted off.
Nataly put an arm around my waist and slung my arm around her shoulders.
We moved as quickly as we could. We were finally in the clearing. She laid me down gently.
"Are you ok?" she asked.
"I'm a lot better, now that you're here," I grin up at her.
She smiles.
"How sweet."
Reynolds walks out of the shadows, with a small little dart in his hands.
"I'm not leaving
