" pancakes? "

✎ Ⓐ n n i e l e b l a n c ✐

My eyes squint open as the smell of food makes me think that I slept in too late, wait.

I'm not on the couch anymore.

I'm in bed next to Hayley.

I roll over to check my phone, 6:25 AM it reads.

Someone's up early then.

But I don't remember coming back here.

I walk to the living room with a blanket wrapped around my bare shoulders, keeping me warm.

"Well good morning, your up early." Hayden says greeting me With a classic smile, flipping pancakes on the stovetop.

"I'm up early? More like your up early."
I say as he giggles.

I pull out a chair across from Hayden on the other side of the island.

"Um one question." I say, he turns to me.

"Fire away." He says cheekily.

"How did I get from the couch to my bed last night?" I asked as I yawned.

He giggles "you fell asleep on the couch so I carried you to bed." He said  smiling at me.

"Shoot, I'm sorry." I say as he pours a glass of water for us both.

"Sorry for what?" He says with his eyes meeting mine.

"I don't know just I-" I start as he stops me.

"Don't apologise, you did nothing wrong." He says adored voice.

"I'm sorry." I said laughing it off.

"There you go again." He says chuckling.

Our conversation moving slowly in peace, almost like a walk in the park.

"Pancakes?" He questions.

"Sure." I say as he fixes us to plates I tried to help but he kindly denied.

Hair in a messy bun with stray hairs everywhere, pjs, no makeup, just natural and real.

This is the Annie that I love and missed.

We began to eat, watching the sun come over the buildings as usual.

"What do you want to do today?" I asked her.

"I don't really know yet." She replied setting down her glass of water.

"Do you want to go shopping, help with the apartment, um chill out here?" I asked.

"I don't know, why don't we wait for everyone else to get up." She said smiling at me.

"Yeah, of course." I said after almost falling into a daze of her stare.

"Are you doing good here?" I asked almost out of the blue.

"Yeah, it's better than home." She replied.

"When your ready to tell me Annie, I swear I won't tell anyone if you need someone to talk to about that stuff." I said quietly.

"Okay." She replied, I quickly picked up our plates before she did.

"Hey!" She said smirking as I washed the dishes.

Hayley and Jimmy and Dylan slowly stumbled out soon after.

We laid on the couch for awhile to talk about todays plans.

"I'm going to go to the gym, I'll be back in about an hour." Annie said slipping on her shoes.

I got off the couch and walked towards her "Do you need me to come with you?" I asked, I am seeking every percussion to keep her safe without making her want to run away from me.

"Hay, it's right down stairs if anything suspicious happens I'll call." She said smiling up at me.

"Okay." I said as she opened the door, this is the first time Annie had left.

No, no I don't fucking like it.

I sat back on the couch, on my phone like everyone else.

Just, Waiting.

Yeah Annie was way healthier than me, thin and toned.

A masterpiece in my opinion.

Me?

I worked out when I had the time.

Which was not often.
