Well, this is gonna be a fun time! Thought Phantom crossly as he and Fire dragged Danny through the Ghost Zone. Everything seemed fine yesterday, only a couple of attacks that Fire and Phantom had managed to help with to a degree; mostly Fire since she was somewhat more familiar with the concept of what happens with a Death Day. But around midnight last night, when they had actually gotten Danny to sleep with little to no fuss, he'd started screaming in his sleep, which had Fire barging in from the room she stayed in, everything had seemed calm enough to go back to her own space, to help comfort him.
When Danny had woken up he had immediately shut down, much to the others' concern, and Phantom had to fight the Fenton parents and keep them from coming in because Danny had insisted that Fire be in her natural form so he could sleep. He woke up too many times to count, each time screaming bloody murder.
Phantom had gone to Clockwork yesterday, but the only thing the time ghost would tell him was to not worry about it; everything was as it should be. Phantom had cursed the ghost very descriptively after that, with Fire joining him, adding a few more creative ones, when he got back and told her.
Today though, around four o' clock in the morning, Phantom had found a mysterious note with what he'd recognized as the time keeper's handwriting, asking him and Fire to bring Danny to the Citadel. It didn't say for what exactly, just to bring him as soon as they were capable. Phantom managed to distract the Fenton's as Fire snuck a stiff Danny down to the portal, heading off afterwards to meet them.
"Dammit Clockwork, you said to come. Why do you have to make your lair so elusive at this time?" Phantom grumbled, his shoulders tense with impatience to find out what the hell Clockwork wanted.
Fire growled out a few curses, "When I see that fucking stopwatch I'm gonna throw him through the ceiling!" Her eyes glowed a dark red, shifting her hold on Danny so he wouldn't fall off of her back.
"His reasoning is questionable," Danny said deliberately, Phantom wincing at how robotic and stiff his boyfriend was, "I find myself curious."
"Danny, you realize that it's my job to be stiff and formal right?" Phantom said, trying to pick up the mood and maybe get some form a smile from the raven. When Danny merely nodded, the ghost's lips pulled down even more, "We'll get there, just-"
He turned back around and there was Clockwork's lair up ahead, "Finally, speak of the devil," he groused as he picked up his pace with a scowl.
The wolf girl snarled, "Oh, he better be ready." Her eyes narrowed, dark red engulfing her pupils and the whites of her eyes. The wolf's pace kicked up a notch as smoke slipped passed her teeth.
The door of the citadel opened and they flew right in, the trio immediately heading towards the viewing room where Clockwork usually resided.
"Alright Clockwork, what's the big-" Phantom halted when he found the room completely empty, "What the fuck?" He whispered, looking around.
"Ah, I see you've all made it," Clockwork said, coming out in his child form with a serene smile, "I apologize for making you fly around in circles, but I'm afraid my other guests needed time to arrive."
Fire scowled, not perturbed at all as she set Danny down and calmly walked up to the time ghost, "You know what I'm going to do." She stated, still eerily calm despite her completely red eyes.
"Yes, but I'm afraid I can't allow you to do that," Clockwork stated, still the epitome of calm.
"Clockwork..." Phantom growled, "give us one good reason why we shouldn't throttle you right now."
"My, quite the tone for the prince of ghosts," Said a much more feminine voice, followed shortly by a giggle. Phantom blinked, thrown off a bit by the extra voices.
