"You're supposed to on my side you brat!" Phantom yelled, chasing after the raven haired boy. Danny took off running, still singing the nursery rhyme like song and dodging around when the prince tried to catch him.Fire laughed and ran so that she was still in front of them, not singing the little song, but the look on her face when she started running backwards into the forest said it all. Then, she stopped and sat down on the ground, "I'm gonna stay right here and listen for you. No intangibility or invisibility allowed either."
Fire grinned wickedly up at him, "Get as far away as you can without leaving the forest, when you do..." her eyes glowed red, "that's when the game starts."
The wolf girl frowned after a second and hummed a little as her eyes faded back to silver, "On second thought, wearing leather pants would be a bad idea for this." She stood up and dusted herself off, "I also need to prepare some stuff so give me like...an hour, then come back."
Fire's ears pulled back as she started muttering ideas under her breath, glancing around and nodding to herself.
Phantom blanched back a bit, eyes wide before he glanced down at his pants, "Uh...okay then..." He flew off to Fenton Works, mind buzzing as he thought on what he should wear instead.
When he got there, he rummaged through his clothes. Most of his pants were leather, they were comfortable to him and never seemed to cause much of a problem while he was fighting, but Fire did have a point on the fact that leather wouldn't be the best thing for stealth. Not only that, they would soak up heat like a bitch. Finding nothing that would benefit him, he looked at the clock and grimaced when when he saw that thirty-five minutes had already passed.
"Damn it, think Phantom! What the hell can I make that would work for stealth, be easy to move in, and not over he-" he blinked as he got an idea, his eyes lighting up and his grin positively devilish.
"Well...that wouldn't necessarily be against the rules now would it?..."
Meanwhile, Fire was busy setting up trip wires. Each one would cause exploding knives to shoot out of strategically placed holes in the trees. The wolf girl took great care to make sure that they were nearly invisible, a few hiding in the shadows of other wires. Was that cheating? Debatable.
She hummed to herself as she finished digging a hole and put a very thin piece of ice over it before covering it up with patches of grass she was able to salvage and dirt.
Fire sighed, dusting her hands off before going to start placing land mines. It was amazing what you could do in about half an hour.
When the hour was up, Danny was standing in the middle of the clearing with Fire, hunting for Phantom's signature, "I realize I'm not gonna help you after this, but it does help to see if Phantom came back without actually going to look for him," he said when she asked.
He felt a blip, almost too small to detect before it vanished, "He suppressed his signature, but he did make it to the forest," he told her, opening his eyes and looking over at her.
Fire nodded, "Thanks for the help." She smiled cruelly, "Don't tell him anything. I want him to be surprised."
Danny snorted, "That doesn't mean I won't play a part."
His eyes snapped with mirth, "As of this moment, I'm on neutral ground; I'll be giving you both hints, but I won't tell him about any traps or anything," his eyes flashed, "just think of me as another trap, but for both of you..." With that, he cackled and vanished into thin air, "I have to have my own fun too ya' know~" Fire heard whispered on the wind.
