It was so bright. Why was it so bright? Fire slowly opened her eyes, squinting at the day light streaming in from the window. She blinked sleepily, yawning. 'Since when did I get a window and why isn't there any snow?' The wolf hybrid thought. After a few seconds she closed her eyes with a groan.

"Oh, right. This is a different universe." Fire muttered herself, rubbing her eyes as she sat up in bed. The wolf girl looked down at her hand with a sigh."I hate being in human form..."

She heard muffled voices from the other side of the door, one of them, Jazz from the sound of it, having a grumpy tone as she trudged down the hall, and two male voices whispering. "Jazz, we have a guest, do you mind lightening your footsteps?" Said a deep voice, obviously Phantom.

Jazz made a couple of intelligible grunts before continuing down the hall at a slightly lighter step. Fire heard Phantom huff with Danny snickering over him before they left as well, presumably going to the kitchen.

The wolf hybrid tilted her head and stood up, dusting herself off. She'd gone to bed in her leggings and black belly shirt which was not at all new. She used to do it back in her universe all the time and if she needed a new pair, she'd make a new pair from ice or crystal.

Fire looked down at her shirt and shrugged, using fire crystal to make up the bottom half of it. After another minute of thought, she made a pair of ankle high boots as well before walking out of the room.

The hybrid quietly went down the stairs, peeking into the kitchen where she found the whole family. Maddie was cooking something with the watchful eye of Danny over her shoulder as he helped. Jazz was slouched over the table with her hand firmly clenched around a big cup of coffee while Jack sat across from her and...

She raised a brow as she slowly walked in, keeping a careful eye on everyone besides Danny, "Where's Phantom?"

Danny, standing by the stove and watching some bacon fry, shrugged without even looking in the wolf girl's direction, "He said he had to check something, but he'll be ba-"

A large explosion rang out from the lab, the sound of coughing and cursing following it right after. "Right about now," he finished as his eyes went to the ceiling in exasperation.

Fire, not knowing how to react, just blinked in surprise, "Does he always make an entrance like that?" She asked, unable to hide her mild amusement.

"No not always," Danny replied, "it's just that the inventions are a little...what's the word?"

Phantom barged into the kitchen, clothes torn up and hair singed on the tips. "Mother of Christ Jack, you still haven't fixed those machines yet?" He exclaimed, panting like he just got out of a match with a grizzly.

Jack looked up from whatever he was working on and grinned sheepishly, "Sorry Nate, I've been working on those things for a while, but I still can't figure out why they keep locking onto your signature. I wonder why?" He scratched his chin while Danny quietly snorted behind him.

Fire grinned, whispering, "Nate, huh?" It was so quiet that only Danny and Phantom heard her.

Danny discreetly shook his head and gave her a sign that they would talk about it later before forking a pile of bacon onto a plate and starting on the eggs.

Phantom's eyes flicked to her for a moment before settling back on Jack, expression becoming more disgruntled as he crossed his arms. "Please, figure that out, I'd rather not be shot at with electricity and green goo every time I come home."

Danny shivered at the electricity part. This time Maddie noticed and put a hand on Danny's shoulder, "We'll try."

Fire snickered lightly, humming a little tune, but it nearly died at the mention of electricity, "Well, good morning!" She chirped, unknowingly cringing and grinding her teeth, but managing to smile all the same. 'I wanna see if I can freak the boys out.'
