Nathan panted heavily, holding his door closed and hearing pounding coming from the other side. When the pounding stopped he looked out into the hallway, seeing nothing. He walked away from it and stood in the middle of his room, eyes darting between the two doors, the closet and the bed. He heard strange noises on his bed and shined his flashlight at it, watching the Mini Freddy's scatter away from the bed.

Heart pounding in his chest, Nate saw the closet door move. He slowly approached and opened it, shining the light inside. He saw a cute little Foxy plushy and sighed; safe for now.

He heard footsteps and his eyes widened, running to the other door. Before he could close the door, Fredbear snatched him up and roared in his face. He screamed back, vision clouded by tears before he found himself jolting up in bed. It was his old room he had with the Afton's, with only one door instead of two. It was the middle of the night though and he still heard pounding on his door.

Nathan huddled under his covers, trembling and mentally begging this nightmare turned memory to end. He didn't get his wish though, as the door slammed open and a shadowed man man stood in the doorway.

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop screaming you little brat!" The man growled, clenching his fists at his sides.

"I'm sorry," the boy whimpered. The man walked forward.

"Yeah, you're gonna be."

Nathan squeezed his eyes tight, waiting for the blow. Thankfully it never came, but when he opened his eyes he was back in the other room. The cycle repeated, over and over, Nathan's fear rising with each go around as the monsters kept grabbing him, the man getting ever closer everytime he shut his eyes.

Danny's eyes snapped open and he jumped out of bed, throwing his stuffed animals, which at the moment looked like their nightmare personas thanks to his nightmares, across the room with a gasp. Eyes darting around the dark room, he thought about places he could hide from his mind. He thought about the closet, but thanks to his nightmares and memories he saw that as a bad idea, but he needed someplace to hide. He looked out the window and bolted for it, landing softly on the ground before booking it to the woods.

It never even occurred to him to wake up Fire and Phantom; in his mind, he was still Nathan, still that six year old boy with a hellish life. During said hellish life, Nathan would run away to the woods when his father came home, the only place that people would leave him alone. He ran across town, muscle memory bringing him to the solace of the forest.

When he got to the clearing he hunkered down, digging his fingers into his hair and momentarily wondering why it was black and not brown. Tears ran down his face as he rocked on his feet, chest hurting with the old memories running through his head as he closed his eyes tight.

"Why did you have to go mummy?" He asked, voice lilting with a strange accent that was hardly detectible, "Why did you and Lizzy have to go away? Mike and daddy have been hurting to me since you've been gone; daddy's hurting other people! Why did you have to leave me alone mummy?!"

He fell completely on the ground and pulled his knees up to his chest, sobbing brokenly into them and asking "why mummy why why?" Over and over again. He was so hysterical he never noticed that another person was there, watching him.

Xena watched from the shadows with a wicked smirk. She'd been waving off her commander's concern for about an hour now, but it had paid off. She chuckled to herself, wrapping her protective aura around her securely before slowly coming out of the bushes.

The blonde pasted a sad, understanding smile on her face as she approached Danny who was still stuck as Nathan for the moment. Her voice was soft and warm as she murmured, "Don't be afraid."
