You sighed as you watched an old man work on a small piece of technology. You furrowed your brow, and groaned in your boredom. You then got off the stool you were previously seated on, and rested your hands on your hips.

"What's taking so long, old man?" You questioned. The old man in front of you turned towards you, and frowned.

"It takes patience to build something, Y/N. You'll never become a great scientist if you act like that." The old man stated. You frowned.

"Yeah, but you're taking so long! I mean, what are you even building?" You questioned as you made your way over towards the stubby old man. Robbie turned back towards his 'project', and grinned.

"This, my friend, is the generator 2000! It inputs any amount of energy into any technological device by twisting the atoms of the device to allow it to input charge. Pretty neat, huh?" You looked at the small device, and gave a weary thumbs up. The old man sighed. "You hate it, I can tell. But just you wait and see what this bay can do in action! Right after I finish building it of course." You turned on your heel, and headed towards the door.

"I'm going home now, see you, ya old geezer!" You called. The old man stomped his foot on the ground.

"I've got a name you know!" The old man shouted. He then sighed, and turned back to his little 'project'.

You made a stop at your favourite park, and leaned against the giant oak tree. You watched kids younger than you run around while playing with their friends. You smiled fondly at them, and thought back to the time you and the old man had met.

You ran through the heavy pouring rain, trying desperately to find some cover. When you saw a rickety old shed, you smiled and ran over to it. You quickly ran inside, and shut the door behind you. You sighed in relief, and turned around. Your eyes widened at what you saw. Lined up along the walls were all sorts of tools, some you've never even seen before! You then looked to the bench, and saw odd looking gadgets. You walked over to the long bench, and picked up one of the small gadgets. As you were admiring them, you heard a cough behind you and whipped your head to see a short old man with white hair that stuck out like wings with a very noticeable bold spot on the top of his head. The old man raised his eyebrow.

"Now, who might you be?" The old man questioned. You gulped, and clutched the gadget close to your chest.

"I-I'm Y/N." You shakily told. The old man smiled.

"Y/N, what a lovely name. I'm Robert, but you can just call me Robbie. Now, what brings you here Y/N?" You fidgeted, and glanced at him.

"Well, I was looking for cover from the rain, and I saw this shed." You told. Robbie nodded.

"I see." Robbie then looked outside, and burst out laughing. "HAHAHAHA! I didn't even notice that it was raining!" You gave Robbie a weird look. He must be a crazy old coot, but something about him told you that he wouldn't harm you. You smiled at him, and giggled.

"How can you not notice it raining? Hehehehehehe!" Robbie grinned. Robbie then looked to your hands.

"That device in your hands, that's one of my inventions." Robbie told. You looked down at the device, and your eyes widened. You then looked back up at Robbie.

"Are you a scientist!?" You questioned. Robbie nodded.

"Yes! Well, was. Now, I'm just an old coot who loves to invent things." You smiled at the old man. From that day on, you visited him often enough that you now considered him to be a grandfather to you.

You smiled fondly at the memories. Your parents didn't know about Robbie, and they never will. Your parents weren't huge fans of technology. They wanted you to become a lawyer just like them, but you scoffed at the idea. You'd rather become a great scientist and invent all kinds of cool gadgets! You had Robbie to thank for your passion, he was the one who inspired you to be a scientist aver since you were a little girl after all. Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard a 'thumping' noise come from the distance. You stood up, and went to investigate where the noise had come from. You looked around, but didn't see anything. You shrugged, and were about to head home when you saw something sticking out of the bushes. You raised your eyebrow, and cautiously made your way over towards the bush. You then grabbed a nearby stick, and pocked the bushes with it. When you felt something hard. You pulled back the bush, and your eyes widened when you saw a boy. The boy looked to be about your age. You screamed, and fell backwards. You then stared at the body of the boy lying on the ground in horror. You slowly crawled towards the boy, and checked for his pulse. When you touched him, your eyes widened. He didn't feel like a human. In fact, he felt almost like a technological device. Your eyes roamed over his body until they stopped at his face. You slowly reached towards his face, and held his cheeks. Unlike the rest of his body, they were soft. You pulled on his cheeks, and giggled. You then moved onto his hair, and felt it. It didn't feel soft like normal hair. Instead, it felt like metal. He had the most unusual hair style you've ever seen. It was styled to look like two horns. You then noticed the attire he wore. He wore black shorts (or were they his underwear, you couldn't tell) with a green hem and red fiery boots that went up to his knees. You continued to stare at the boy, and then noticed a square shaped latch on his chest. You slowly reached out to the latch, and pressed down. You then gasped when it opened, revealing a metal shaped heart with gears and a thermostat. Your eyes widened. Robbie needed to see this! You quickly closed the latch, and slipped your arms around the robot boy. You then carried him on your back, and made your way towards Robbie's shed.

By the time you arrived, the sun had set. You struggled to open the door while trying to hold the robot boy upright on your back, and sighed in relief when you finally managed to get the door open. You walked inside.

"Oi, old man!" You called. You heard some rustling, and saw Robbie walk out of the store room.

"What? Oh, Y/N! I thought that you went back home." You shook your head, and laid the robot boy on the bench. You then turned to Robbie who raised an eyebrow at you, gesturing to the boy. You grinned.

"I found a robot!" You exclaimed. Robbie's eyes widened. He then hurriedly made his way towards the bench where the robot boy laid. He then turned to you.

"You're not messing with me, are you?" You shook his head, and watched as Robbie examined the robot boy. You then saw his eyes widen. Robbie turned towards you with a gleam in his eye. "Y/N, do you know what this means!? This could be a huge step in science history! We've got to take him apart and see what he's made of!" Robbie exclaimed. You gasped, and hurriedly stood in front of the robot boy protectively.

"NO! We can't just take him apart, what if he needs our help?" Robbie sighed, and nodded.

"Yes, you're right. Sorry, I wasn't thinking. We've got to power him up somehow though." You nodded in agreement, and stood aside to let Robbie scan him with one of his devices. You stood back, and awaited for your instructions on how you could help.
