"Cadet Smith. From now on, You will leave your post as a cadet and be positioned as a corporal according to your exemplary skills in each field. While I have already discussed for (F/N)'s state." Commander Keith stated calmly. Me and (F/N) just sat there, silent. "That is all I could say. Dismissed." He finally said as leaned back on his chair. (F/N) and I stood up in sync. "Understood, sir." We both said in unison.

We both walked out and awkward silence came to ascend. That's when (F/N) decided to break it. "Congratulations, Erwin." (F/N) recognised. "Likewise?" I replied quietly. "...I would ponder who would be in your squad." (F/N) scratched her cheek. "It makes me nervous." I chuckled. Then everything fell back into silence.

"Well, I'm glad to hear you got promoted also.. See you around, (F/N)." I bid a goodbye. (F/N) nods and went the opposite direction I went.

It's been a year since we found out what really happened to our families. Ever since that, (F/N) doesn't talk to us anymore except when she needs something. We're all in good terms but.. We're missing a piece in the puzzle.

It really has been so quiet...

"Yo, Erwin!" Hanji yelled as she runs up to me. I snapped my mind back in reality as she approaches me. "Hanji." I greeted. "Why were you sent to the Commander's office?" Hanji asked. "You mean your crush's office?" I smirked. "Sh-Shut up! Just tell me!" Hanji fumed with embarrassment and guilt.

"I'll tell you later once Mike is here.. Speaking of Mike, where is he?" I chuckled then asked as I fixed my hair. "Ah, Mike just went to go training, He'll sure be back. Tell us later, Please!!" Hanji begged. I waved her off. "Right, right. See you later." I said and with that, Hanji zoomed off to God knows where.

I sigh as I go to my room. I opened the door and found Mike, shirtless. "Hey, got back from training?" I said as I sit down on a chair next to a vanity. "Yeah, It was awful as always." Mike replied as he puts on a shirt. "Hmph.. Mike?" I asked quietly. "Yeah?" Mike replied as he fixes his hair. "Would you be interested if someone asks you to be in a squad?" I said. "Hm? What do you mean?" Mike wondered, confused.

"Commander Keith has recently promoted me to squad leader, and.. yeah." I sighed. "Squad leader? That's great to hear!" Mike nodded. "Yeah.. (F/N) also made into being one, too." I said as I look at my reflection in the mirror. "Has she chosen her members?" Mike asked as he goes up behind me and carefully combs his hair. "I don't know. But it ponders me since (F/N)'s already inside being conversed by he commander before I got in there." I said as I take off my harness.

"A special ops squad she will gain, probably?" Mike said as he sighed. I just shrugged my shoulders and just gaze at the mirror.

"Everybody fall in!" Keith yelled at the large sum of cadets standing infront of (F/N) and Keith. "We have our new corporal. Introduce yourself!" With that Keith stated, He stood back. Letting (F/N) take a step forward. "(F/N) (L/N), New corporal of the Survey Corps!" (F/N) yelled flawlessly. The cadets stood there, stunned. (F/N) cleared her throat as she brings out a paper. "For those names I will call out, Please come forward." She said. Later, She called out names one by one. Until it came to the last.

She went infront of the 5 called cadets and she eyed each of them with her usual stare. She observed each of their faces; Full of fear, determination, and bravery. "All of you have been chosen to be part of the Special Operation Squad. Meet me and your Commander in his office. We hope to see you there as early as we could." (F/N) bowed, And the 5 cadets bow back hesitantly. "Everyone, dismissed!" Keith said, and everyone scrambled back to where they were.

My own special operation squad? What a big duty to take in.

(F/N) took a sigh.

She turned to face the commander and saluted. "Sir, I'll be at your office." Keith nodded, and she began to walk towards the office.

She walked faster as she fixed the collar of her jacket. She turned to open the door of the commander's office and went inside. As she opened the door, It revealed her new squad is here.

They were all sitting on a long couch and immediately stood up and gave a whole-hearted salute. "Captain (F/N)!" They said in unison. "Drop the formalities, You all can call me (F/N)." She took a sigh as she closed the door behind her and sat on a chair in front of them. "But captain, Commander Keith strictly prioritizes us to call a higher rank by their position!" One young cadet retorted.

"Eh? Commander has taught you guys well.. I see..." (F/N) said as she crosses her legs. "Alright. Sit down as we wait for Commander Keith." She said, And everyone sat down quietly. Seconds later, Keith finally came in and everyone saluted. "Alright. Let's get this started." Keith motioned everyone to sit down as he proceeds to his chair.

Keith then looked at (F/N) and she nods. "First of all, I want to give commendation for making it into the Special Ops Squad. We both have your respect." (F/N) said monotonously. The five members smiled and continued to listen.

"Now, All of you are called in here for your captain here will assign you to your new dorms." Keith said. (F/N) stood up and held out a paper consisting of venues. "Alright let's get started." She said as she cracks her knuckles.

"For the males, you will be moved to be at the Third floor of headquarters. Dorm number 6. Since... You guys are three." She looked at the three guys and then back at the paper. "As for you girls, You two will be placed at the Second floor of headquarters, Dorm number 2." She said and folds the paper. "That's all on my list. Y'all are dismissed. I look forward to working with you all." With that said, her newly recruited squad stood up and gave a salute. "Likewise, captain!!" They said, full of pride and determination, As soon as that, they all left with smiles on their faces.

"They are... an interesting pick.. Why did you choose them?" The commander asked as (F/N) turned her head towards him. "Because... I saw the potential in them. And I swear to protect them with my life. They can be our next hope." (F/N) said as she sits back down on a chair infront of Keith's desk.

"Wise words... We'll see, (F/N). We'll see." Keith said.
