Chapter 5: Advice

The same day
Nessa's POV
Roni, Teala, Tristan and I were walking down the street just to walk around and hang out until I saw Marco alone sitting on a bench, his hands were above his head and I decided to go to him. "Hey guys why don't u go ahead. I'll catch up" I said. "Okay" They said as I walked to Marco. "Marco?" I asked as he looked up to me. "Hey Nessa" he said. "Hi. Why are u all alone here....it's kinda late ya know" I said. "Nothing. Just wanted to go out" Marco said. "Why did u want to go out?" I asked. "Bc I wanted to" Marco said. "Marco...is something wrong? U do know u can talk to me right?" I asked. "Nothing's wrong Nessa" Marco said. "Marco what happened?" I asked. "Nothing happened" He said as I grab his face and look at him in the eye. "Look at me in the eye and tell me nothing happened" I said. "Nothing happened" he said looking away. "Ur a bad liar u know that. I know ur lying it's pretty obvious now tell me what's wrong" I said. "Clarissa and I had a fight. And this is a big one. It's kinda normal for Clarissa and I to fight cuz we always do that but...this time I don't know....I feel different it's like...I want to break up with her. It's not that I don't love her...I just don't feel how the way I used to feel. You know what I mean? Idk I'm just tired" I said. "I honestly don't rlly know what to say but...follow ur heart Marco. If u want to break up with her then do it. Like....I know it's hard since u have like a history with her but if u rlly don't want to be with her anymore don't be. Don't force yourself to love her like u used to. There's always gonna be a time in life where...you have to move on you know...like. I know it's hard but...u just have to do it sometimes and sometimes moving on is the best option cuz when u move on , you get to know the best person you can be, ur gonna be a new person, cuz ur free...and u get to experience stuff without her for the first time have u ever been broken up before or have u ever broke up with someone else?" I asked. "No...I never. Shes my first girlfriend and we've been dating for years now" Marco said. "Well....I have. I've broken up with someone before, even though it was hard I still did it" I said. "Why'd u break up with him?" Marco asked. "Cuz I was too busy trying to make other ppl happy when I'm not happy myself. I'm not gonna lie it was pretty hard to do. But look at where I am now. I am the best person I can be and....I'm happy. Ever since I broke up with him I was like "wow. So this is what it feels like to be free. To be happy" and honestly Marco. You deserve happiness. So if ur happy with her then....fix things with her but if ur not....it's better to just end things...what were u fighting about btw?" I asked. "Well...she was kinda jealous...cuz she thought....i....I was in love with you or that I had feelings for u" Marco said.

So he rlly doesn't have feelings for me. Well....I guess I just have to deal with it...I mean he has a girlfriend. Im just gonna try to be the best friend that I can be even if I secretly like him.

"U- u were fighting about me? Why-why me?" I asked. "She thought like...the way I talked to u, looked at u...I loved u but...I mean we just met. I can't rlly say that cuz we just met ya know. And we barely know each other like sure we've shared stuff but we've only met like 2 or 3 days ago. She's crazy. She can talk to guys but I can't talk to girls? Pathetic" Marco said. "Yeah. That's kinda unfair tbh u should have the freedom to talk to whoever u want" I said. "Exactly. I'm never gonna have friends if she's like this" Marco said. "I told u that I'm gonna help get u friends right? Well I'm gonna do exactly that tomorrow but rn let's just talk " I said as he smiles at me. And I smile back.

"So tell me about ur past relationship" Marco said. "Well it's kinda just like yours. We dated for 4 years, we were on and off so it's not exactly for years but like...idk things changed. When I was free, he was busy and if he was free, I was busy. He lives all the way from Missouri so it's like a long distance relationship. We both would fly to each other's places just to see each other. But idk...I tried my best to make him happy but inside...I wasn't happy at all. Inside I wasn't happy at all. Roni was the first person I talked about this with and...she just helped me a lot. She made me realize that it's time to put myself first, like it's hard but I have to do it for my own sake. And it was right. I did the right choice, I'm the happiest as of right now and idk I just feel so free" I said. "I think I'm gonna break up with her but I'll stay with her for a week bc idk I still have to think about stuff" Marco said. "Well it's ur life Marco. U choose. Choose the right one. Choose whatever that makes you happy" I said. "Thank you...Nessa" Marco said. "Ur welcome" I said. "We just met but....how the hell are u so nice to me?" Marco asked. "That's just who I am as a person and ur welcome I gave u good advice. " I said. "U rlly do give good advice" Marco said. "Well duh it's me" Marco said as I hair flipped, he laughed and so did I. "Man if only I had a relationship like Mahogany and Carlos I would be so damn happy rn" Marco said. "Don't worry Marco you're gonna find ur "girl" soon." I said. "You too but "guy" lol" Marco said. "Thanks. But I'm not rlly looking for a boyfriend right now. I don't have time for boys" I said. "Oh really?" Marco asked. "Yeah" I said confidently. "So u don't find that guy handsome?" Marco asked pointing at the corner side of the shop that was across us. "Damn..." I said staring. "Sure u don't have time for guys" Marco said. "I dont! He's just. Look at him! Look at those muscles...abs. face. Holy wo- OH MY LORD JESUS IS THAT A RING?!"I asked. "Maybe he's engaged" Marco said as a girl went to the guy I was staring at and kissed him. "Crap nvm. He isn't attractive at all. Not at all nvm" I said as Marco laughs. "So ur into guys who r engaged? Wow Nessa nice picks" Marco said sarcastically. "Wow u are such a jerk" I said. "Thanks" Marco said

We decided to go back to the hotel but just walk around for a couple of minutes. "Hey look at that. That's Sierra, she's a friend of mine and she's pretty right?"I asked as he look at the direction I was looking. "Oh yeah...she is, Marco said. "Should I call her over? We're friends" I said. "No Nessa no" Marco said but I called Sierra. "Sierra!!" I yelled as she looked, running to me and hugged me. "HIII!!!!!" She said. "HIII!!" I said hugging back. "It's been so long!!!" Sierra said. "Ikr! Seems like forever!" I said as I noticed the ring on her finger. "SO IT IS TRUE. OH MH GOD CONGRATULATIONS SIERRA!!! WHEN R U HAVING UR WEDDING?" I asked. "Well Alex and I don't want to rush things, we just wanna spend more time with each other and stuff. Idk but I'll let u know. Also u forgot to introduce me to ur friend over here" Sierra said looking at Marco. "Marco meet Sierra. Sierra meet Marco" I said as they shake hands. "Nice to meet you" Sierra said. "My pleasure" Marco said as they let go. "Well um I gotta go so I'll catch u sometime huh Nessa?" Sierra asked. "Oh definitely" I said. "Bye" Sierra said. "Bye" I said as she walked away. "SHES ENGAGED?!" Marco asked. "Who likes ppl who r engaged now huh?" I asked. "Did u do that on purpose?" Marco asked. "Duh" I said. "I hate you" Marco said. "I hate you more" I said. "Whatever" Marco said.

We talked for a little while until we decided we're gonna head back to our rooms and sleep. I knock on the door, Roni opens it and asks me where I was. "WHERE THE HECK HAVE YLU BEEN?! IVE BEEN WORRIED!" Roni sai. "Roni calm down I'm right here. I was with Marco and he was having problems so I had to talk to him" I said. "Oh ok. Well ya know u should let me know if ur going home late or not so that I won't be worried. Cuz I was literally panicking awhile ago" Roni said. "Aw u care about me. That's cute" I said as Roni rolls her eyes.

Marco's POV.
I was back at my room. So I guess me and Clarissa are sharing beds since Mahogany and Carlos are? Ugh you've got to be kidding me we just fought. Gosh dang this is gonna be a hell of a night. I lay in bed beside Clarissa she looked at me and our faces were inches apart. "Are you mad at me?" Clarissa asked. "Kinda" I said. "Im sorry" Clarissa said. "Okay" I said as she puts her arm around me and cuddles with me. As much as I want to push her away I can't. She's my girlfriend and I'm not breaking up with her until I know what and who my real feelings are for. Carlos and Mahogany was already sleeping so I decided to sleep too. "Marco?" Clarissa asked. "Yeah?" I asked. "What happened?" She asked. "To what?" I asked. "To us... I mean...we used to be so happy together before" Clarissa said. "Well things change Clarissa. It can't be all Sunshines and rainbows. There are always gonna be ups and downs in a relationship." I said. "Yeah I know but...-" before she could finish I cut her off. "Can we just sleep pls? I'm tired"I said. "Okay" she said as we both decided to go to sleep.
