Myra P.O.V
All of us watched in terror as the prophecy was brought to life. We had set Smaug free and upon the innocent people of Laketown. The lake was ablaze as foretold and the peoples screams echoed. All of us were ashamed by our actions and felt guilty for not being able to prevent it. we had blindly followed Thorin into that cursed mountain against Gandalfs warning. Thorin was mad with greed which terrified me. We got some small amount of relief when Smaug fell from the sky.
"It's dead. Smaug is dead." Bilbo said in disbelief
"By my beard, I think he's right. Look there." Gloin said as we saw birds fly towards the mountain. "The ravens of Erebor are returning to the mountain." He noticed
"Aye, word will spread. Not before long, every soul in Middle-Earth will know the dragon is dead!" Balin happily shouted. We all cheered at the thought and enjoyed our victory.
I couldn't believe that we had actually done the impossible. We had finally reclaimed our home. I would actually be able to live in my childhood home. I grinned wide at the thought of being able to raise my family. I could tell my child countless tales about my time here. While we celebrated, Thorin snuck into the mountain.
Everyone went inside to celebrate properly. However, I quickly noticed that Thorin was missing. I knew that there was only one place he could be. I shuffled to the vault and saw him overlooking his horde. Due to his paranoia, he quickly noticed my presence.
"My beautiful queen. Look upon your treasure. You have any gem you like as far as the eye can see." Thorin said as he stretched his hand out. I took it and gave him a small smile.
"Thankfully, the only treasure I want is right in front of me." I said before Thorin gave me a gentle kiss.
"I'm flattered. Though, I still want to give you some proper jewels. Perhaps some emeralds for your eyes, rich sapphires adorned with diamonds for your people. It would be a marvelous crown, never before created..."Thorin rambled before I interrupted him
"Thorin, stop! I don't want any of that. I could care less about gems and jewelry. I came down here to tell you something important. But, all you can focus on is your stupid treasure. It was a mistake to come down." I yelled as I started to walk away
"Myra, please! I'm sorry for ignoring you. Please what news do you have? You have my full attention." Thorin pleaded with tears in his eyes. For once, I saw his old self-return as he gingerly held onto my wrist.
"Thorin...I...You're...We're going to be...parents." I stuttered out as I brought his hand to my stomach. His eyes went wide and his jaw dropped.
"Myra, I... I love you so much!" Thorin exclaimed as he dipped me into a kiss. When he brought me up, he crouched to get closer to my stomach. "Hi, little one. I'm your father. I love you and your mother very much. I can't wait to meet you." Thorin said to our child before kissing my belly. I chuckled and happily embraced him.
He grabbed my hand and ran towards the kitchen where everyone was. He ran like a madman as he sort of dragged me behind him. He came in so quickly that it startled everyone. They all grabbed their weapons, fearing the worst until he spoke.
"Everyone, I'm going to be a father!" Thorin announced which surprised everyone but Balin and Dwalin. The company swarmed us to give their congratulations.
"Congrats, Myra and Thorin. I'm so happy for the both of you. You'll be wonderful parents, if you can stay out of danger." Bilbo teased which made me laugh
"I try to but she's always trying to be a hero. I should be lucky that she only gets a few scrapes." Thorin joked
"Congrats, you two. I can't wait to train the little one." Dwalin said
