"Sam?"  (Y/n) shouted to Locus from the top of the stairs.

"Yes, gorgeous?"

"Where's Kade?"

"I'm not... hold still, Aria...I'm not sure.  ARIA! Would you please hold still for just a few seconds?"

The little girl giggled at her father's expense, the family had been preparing to go sledding at (Y/n)'s parents house, and Locus had been trying to put his daughter in snow pants for the last ten minutes.  Finally, after a bit more struggle on his part, he had Aria dressed in all her winter gear. Locus stood up, exasperated, towering over his baby girl.  "There, wait here sweetheart, I have to help your mother find Kade." The little girl pouted.

"Daaaadddyyyy when is uncle Isaac coming over?"   "Uncle Fel- Isaac, will be coming over later."  "Okay."  Aria plopped down on her bottom to play with her favorite stuffed kitten.

Locus sighed and went to look for his son.  Recently, he had noticed Felix was paying more attention to his wife than usual and he didn't like it. Back in their days of bounty hunting, (Y/n) and Felix had been an on and off again item, but it was Locus who had been there for (Y/n) when she needed it the most and he was who she ultimately ended up with.

Since Locus and (Y/n) got married, Felix had been a bit clingier to (Y/n) and colder to Locus than he had been previously. The last time Felix was over, he'd looped his arm around (Y/n)'s waist while they were watching tv. Locus had almost killed him that day, and it was a good thing the kids were at their grandparents. It was a wonder on why Felix kept coming back.

"Kade get out here! Your mother is not pleased with you."  Locus heard shuffling coming from the closet in his 8 year old sons room. "But Dad! I'm trying to be sneaky! Uncle Isaac taught me that stealth is one of the most important parts of being a mercenary!"

Locus stood in front of the closet with his arms crossed. He didn't have time for this. He especially didn't want to shit all over Felix because quite frankly, his kids loved their "uncle."   "One...." "Dad you're supposed to find me first!" "Two..." "Daaad..." "Kade if I reach three and you're not out, I'm taking away your computer and Xbox for the next two weeks." "Okay! Okay! I'm coming out."

A picture perfect, carbon copy of Locus's younger self hopped out of the closet holding a plastic army knife. Kade looked nothing like his mother, except he had (Y/n)'s eyes. "Can I bring my knife?" Locus fought the urge to roll his eyes and grinned at his son.

"Yes, you can bring your knife, now go find your mother. She has your snow pants."

"Okay Dad!"  Kade darted out of room and Locus just shook his head, a faint smile on his face. He loved his family, it was the best thing he'd ever created in his life. As he walked down the stairs, his wife was helping Kade get on his boots and the doorbell ran. "Hey handsome, would you mind getting the door?" "Of course."

Locus opened the door to see a familiar, shit eating grin.  Felix stepped inside the house.  "Knock, knock."  "UNCLE ISAAC!!" Two pairs of little arms embraced the man standing in entryway. "Hey kiddos! I brought gifts!" Felix knelt down to their level, Kade and Aria were practically wiggling with excitement.  No matter how much Locus didn't like Felix, he could never deny that Felix was surprisingly good with his kids.

"Kade, I know how much you love that knife of yours that I got you, so I finally found the perfect sheath to go with it." Felix dug out a toy leather sheath and handed it to the boy.
Kade took the sheath and leapt on Felix for a hug.
