(Y/n's POV)
It was late when I heard wolves howling. I sighed, that was the third night this week. And almost always at 10:00 at night. I sipped my hot chocolate and continued to read my book. I had quiet Christmas music playing in the background and was humming along when I heard a low whimper at my patio door.

Raising a brow in confusion, I walked over to the glass sliding door. The moon was full and illuminated the snow in a silvery, glittery glow. I couldn't see anything, not even tracks in the snow. I was turning away when I heard the low whimper again. Frowning, I walked over to grab my winter boots, stuck them on my feet, and walked outside.

I tried not to scream when I saw a large black and chocolate brown wolf lying on its side next to the side of the house. The wolf was breathtaking, it had a black stripe that started in between its eyes and went all the way down to the tip of its tail.

It's underbelly, legs, chest, under tail, jaw, tail tip, and ear tips were also black. There was a black spot above each of its closed eyes, the spots reminded me of a husky. The rest of its pelt was a dark, chocolatey brown.

The wolf let out another low, pained whimper. It had been skimmed by what looked like several bullets. As I approached it slowly, it opened its eyes and looked at me. The wolf's eyes were an amazing silvery grey and sparkled with intelligence.

It whimpered once more and closed its eyes. I couldn't just let a beautiful animal like that bleed out and die on my doorstep! God I was glad I lived in a secluded area with only woods and no neighbors. Just how I liked it. That way no one would question me dragging a wolf into my house. Me, being an animal lover, put my own safety and well being aside and managed to pull the wolf inside.

I worked as a part time vet assistant, trying to get my degree as a veterinarian. As I laid the wolf on a blanket I had spread out by the fireplace, I quickly disinfected the wound and put pressure on the bleeding. The wolf was a male and when I had stopped the bleeding, he looked at me.

He watched every move I made as I grabbed my emergency suture kit. I strung up my needle, but quickly grabbed a numbing cream and gently rubbed it on. He didn't move and his gunmetal eyes never left mine as I stitched up the wounds.

After about ten minutes of stitching the wounds on his side, I noticed he had a large X shaped scar on his face.  Since he wasn't moving and there wasn't any hostility in his eyes, I tucked a lock of (h/c) hair behind my ear and moved over closer to his muzzle.  The thick winter fur and the night had hidden the scar from when I first saw him.

Without thinking, I traced it with my finger.  The wolf made a low, almost affectionate rumble in his chest when my finger touched his skin.  I blushed, which was stupid, he was just a wolf.  The wolf just kept staring into my eyes, I gently ran my hand over its head and gently rubbed its ears.

"I'm going to shower, I'll be back to check on you."  I told the wolf, I felt... connected to him somehow.  Strange, but I liked having that wolf here.  He was, well, comforting.  I gave him a quick peck in between his eyes where the scar sat.  Then I stood up and walked to shower.

(Locus's POV)
I don't know why I had chosen to lie next to this house.  I was drawn here in my injured state, and my pain stricken mind was to weak to argue with my body.   I hadn't realized I'd been whimpering, but I knew someone had heard me and that's when she walked outside.

Her scent was sweet like sugar and roses.  I looked up and met her (e/c) eyes, her (h/l) (h/c) hair blew in the frosty, winter wind.  Mine, she's mine. My mind blared those words so loud I was almost positive she could here it.

The woman looked shocked but nonetheless, dragged my limp body inside.  The house was warm and the blanket was thick and comfortable.  I watched her as she pulled something out of a cabinet in her desk.  A suture kit.
