For hundreds of years, the two largest families in the Korean Peninsula have been at war. The Jungs had control of all of the south of Korea, while the Kims had control of the mountains and a few sections of the coast. Even though they were large, the Kim Empire was still not as big as the Jung Empire.

The Jungs were firebenders; fierce and unforgiving, much like the icebenders of Daegu. Jung Yonghwa was a tyrant who killed his own wife in front of his only son, Hoseok. Hoseok was the exact opposite of his father, who continued to have his forces rape the Kim villages and towns, burning them and the survivors. No, Hoseok wasn't like that at all.

No matter how hard King Yonghwa tried, Hoseok could not be brainwashed. Queen Eunhye was an icebender, but held no trait of one except her icy blue eyes and silver-blonde hair. She was kind and strong and completely opposed to her husband's rule. So, she taught Hoseok how to be a kind and caring ruler; one who still had control of his kingdom and struck fear in the heart of his enemies, but treated everyone fairly. And it worked.

At the age of eighteen, he ordered his best friend, Min Yoongi, to murder his father. Yoongi was a Min icebender; cold-hearted and the best assassin in all of Korea. Just the mention of his name struck fear in people's hearts, but Hoseok saw through his exterior. So did Park Jimin, a Busan metalbender who had fallen in love with Yoongi. And Yoongi fell in love with him.

At nineteen, Hoseok officially took the throne as ruler of the Jung Empire. Today, at twenty-four, he was meeting Kim Jongin in the heart of the Kim Empire to discuss peace between their kingdoms, as well as something else, according to King Jongin.

Hoseok walked down the hallway with his head held high, crown resting regally in his neat aruburn hair. It was made of rose gold and twisted around rubies like flames. He was in his formal jet-black suit; all of his metals and pins glinting in the light as he moved, royal sash of red and gold laying across them with the Jung family crest on the end. It was a simple golden flame that seemed to flicker in the light as he walked.

His entourage consisted of Yoongi on his left; clad in black, swords laid across his back in their sheaths. Knives were hidden all over him, crafted by his lovely husband, who took up Hoseok's right side. Jimin's metal suit seemed to flow with him as he walked, black hair pushed neatly back like always. Both he and his husband were ready to strike at any moment if need be.

The Kim throne room was covered in green; plants climbed the walls and branches twisted into two large thrones. The larger throne was occupied by King Jongin; his silver crown resting in his black hair. His robes were various shades of green and yellow and went down to the floor, covering his feet. Earthbenders were probably the most modest of all the other benders.

The throne to King Jongin's left held a boy seemingly as old as Jimin. His honey skin contrasted with his emerald-green robes and held their own natural glow. His grown was a simple silver band, like a halo on his head and to Hoseok, that's what the boy seemed like; an angel sent from heaven.

"So, you are the young king I've heard so much about," Jongin said once the visitors bowed to him. Hoseok smiled lightly as he stood. "Yes, Your Majesty. My apologies for taking so long to finally make peace with you since I gained the Jung throne. Please forgive me," he said formally, voice steady and measured. Jongin let out a short laugh, but it wasn't in mockery or distaste. "Don't apologize. I figured you needed a few years to sort out your people and make peace with others. You saved us for last thinking we were the hardest to sway."

Yoongi tensed behind Hoseok, who raised a hand to him. "Calm down, Min. Your assumptions are correct, Your Majesty. But, for the past few months, we have been trading our thoughts on peace back and forth. I come before you today with the official treaty hand-written by yours truly. It's time for this unnecessary hostility between our kingdoms to end. This is a new era, a new beginning. Our kingdoms should live in harmony."
