The rain comes down hard outside the window, but Taehyung pays it no mind as he sits in front of his laptop, which shows his schoolwork on one side of the screen, his beautiful boyfriend on the other. Hoseok had moved to America to go to a major dance school there about a year ago. As much as Taehyung hated long-distance relationships, he was willing to tough it out just for Hoseok.

"What time is it over there?" Hoseok asked while he ate breakfast. Taehyung didn't look up from his paper as he shrugged. "About nine in the evening. I miss you," came the quiet reply as he continued to type. The older boy sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I miss you too, baby. But you'll see me in a few months, alright?" he said and Taehyung nodded as he gave him a brave smile, which turned genuine as he noticed how ruffled his boyfriend's hair was. "This is enough for now," he sighed out and Hoseok nodded in agreement.

What Taehyung thought was a crack of thunder turned out to be frantic knocking on the front door. "Sorry, baby. I have to go. Have a good day. I love you," he said and blew his boyfriend a kiss, who did the same. "Sweet dreams, Taehyungie! I love you, too."  Taehyung shut his laptop when the videocall ended and made his way to the front door. Very faintly through the door, what sounded like crying greeted his ears and he frowned in confusion. Without another thought, he threw open the door, eyes wide in absolute shock and disbelief at what he saw.

Babies. Two babies. Well, toddlers, but one was still obviously younger than the other. They held each other tight as they cried, staring up at Taehyung with wide, innocent doe eyes, partially hidden under their rain-soaked hair. They shivered in both cold and fear underneath and it broke something in the college junior as he stared down at them. He suppressed his tears of anger and pure sadness for the two babies and swallowed hard as he picked both of them up and brought them in from out the rain. "Poor babies. Come on, let's get you warm."

He made his way into the bathroom and set the crying babies in the bathtub so he could pull out blue and green towels, setting them on the ground before pulling out his hair dryer and plugging it into the wall. "Alright, who's first?" he asked and the younger one lifted his arms towards him, making grabby hands while the other one sobbed quietly to himself. "Let's get you all set, hm?" Taehyung cooed as he lifted the younger into his arms as he sat on the floor, earning a noise of happiness from the baby.

Leaning back against the wall, Taehyung removed the blanket around the little baby, revealing the fact that he only had on a diaper. Whoever abandoned them didn't even have the audacity to dress them properly! What the hell!? But the blanket did give him a name. "So, your name's Jungkook, huh?" he wondered aloud as he took off the diaper and wrapped him up in the green towel, then turned on the hair dryer to dry his hair.

Jungkook giggled as his hair was fluffed and dried, holding the corner of the towel in his little hand. Once he was completely dried, Taehyung searched in the cabinet for a diaper. His main source of income was babysitting for a wealthy Busan family that had twins about these babies' ages, so he always had diapers and baby food in the house. He smiled and made faces at Jungkook as he put him in a clean diaper, then held him up so they were face-to-face. "Better, Jungkookie?" he asked quietly as Jungkook tried to reach out to play with his piercings. He chuckled and nuzzled his face before he swaddled Jungkook in the green towel.

Now for the other one, who was staring into space. Taehyung's heart ached for him as he watched hot tears cascade down those red chubby cheeks. "Oh, Angel," he pouted as he cupped the side of the baby's face with one of his big hands. He hauled the little angel into his arms and removed all the wet discomforts, wrapping him up in the blue towel. "You have a very sweet name, Jimin," he said as he read the name stitched into the blanket before turning on the dryer and repeating what he did to Jungkook, except not a single giggle came from Jimin. Fresh diaper, baby powder and another swaddled baby later, Taehyung picked them up and led them to his room.

"Okay, cuties. Stay here for me, alright? I'll be right," he said with a smile before rushing back to the bathroom to retrieve the blankets and start a load of laundry, then moved back to his room to look for clothes his cousins always left before they grew out of them. He found a white shirt for Jungkook and a blue and white-stripped shirt for Jimin. They'd be a bit big on them, but it was the best he had; they'd just have to go without pants for now. It took a little bit to get Jungkook into his shirt, since he decided to be difficult and fight Taehyung, but Jimin obediently lifted his arms and accepted the shirt. He kept a pout and refused to look at the college student.

With a sigh, Taehyung lifted Jimin into his arms and let a warm hand caress a chubby cheek, fingers playing with the soft strands of fluffy brown hair. "Look at me," he said gently, lifting Jimin's face to look into his eyes. "You're under my care now, okay? I'll take care of you and warm and happy. I won't leave you, I promise." Jimin reached out for Taehyung, who wrapped him up in and held him close to his chest, allowing Jimin's tiny hands to ball up the fabric of his oversized sweater that actually belonged to Hoseok.

Once everyone was fed, it was around eleven at night and Taehyung let out a yawn. He was so exhausted from endless schoolwork and the surprise of the babies showing up at his door like stray dogs, but he really enjoyed their company. It was already established that Jungkook was the little troublemaker while Jimin was the sweet little angel that only wanted to be in Taehyung's arms. It was endearing, really.

All was quiet, but then Jungkook said something that made Taehyung's heart stop in his chest. "Daddy," he whined, hands reaching out for him blindly. He picked the baby up off the couch and held him to his chest, allowing his hand to close around his thumb. These boys were abandoned. Maybe Taehyung was their new father now. He was much too young, but he had always wanted kids and he had been babysitting since he was sixteen. He would definitely have to talk to Hoseok about this tomorrow evening, but he was okay with being a father so young. He was all the babies had now. He was their only hope.

Jimin started to cry in Taehyung's lap, so he positioned Jungkook where he could have both babies laying on his chest. He kissed their heads and hummed low in his chest, knowing he would put them asleep in about five minutes. It was a perk of having a deep voice; babies and Hoseoks loved him. "Goodnight, sweethearts. I'll keep you safe," he whispered.

idk anymore. Happy Days!
