"Jimin?" Hoseok mumbled when he woke up.

Park Jimin was sitting on the edge of Taehyung's bed, giving a smile as he leaned over to brush some hair out of Hoseok's eyes before pulling him into a sitting position.

"Hey, Hoseokie. Tae had to go to work, so he called me over to take care of you until he got back." There was something about the way Jimin didn't look at him when he said that, licking his lips right after that made Hoseok a little uneasy, but he nodded anyways.

"Fuck," he suddenly groaned, tilting his head back, "the boys are late for school."

"No, no," Jimin shook his head, patting the younger boy's shoulder, "Tae got them showered and fed and off to school, too. It's all taken care of, I promise."

Hoseok deflated, a relieved smile washing across his face as he ran a hand through his hair. He glanced around the room, noticing the white walls decorated with black and white photos of seemingly ordinary things, a confused frown slowly etching its way onto his face. "Where's Taehyung's cat?"

Jimin paled, twisting his fingers and licking his lips, squirming on the bed. "Yeah, about that... TaeTae always hides his serval when he leaves."

The two held a staring contest for a long time, but then Jimin blurted, "What do... um, how do you think... he hides him?" He shrank in on himself while Hoseok processed all the hints he dropped.

Finally, it all clicked in the nineteen-year-old's mind. His eyes widened as he looked at the older boy, who looked like a ghost while he chewed his bottom lip.

"You're..."

Jimin nodded, eyes glued to his lap. "I'm the serval. I'm Jimin, the same one you met at the park." Hoseok quickly leapt up from the bed, horror-struck eyes trained on Jimin, whose eyes widened as he shook his head. "No Hoseok, please don't be scared. Please don't be," he pleaded, voice becoming whiny and hurt.

He stood up and pulled the frightened boy into his arms, holding onto his biceps as he tried to calm him down. "Hoseok, it's okay. I promise there's nothing to be scared of," he cooed, gently leading Hoseok into the kitchen, where Taehyung left a blueberry muffin and a fruit smoothie.

After Hoseok calmed down enough to eat his breakfast, he looked at Jimin, noticing the way he bit his nails. "How... how did he decide to turn you into a human?"

Jimin sighed and shook his head. "Taehyung, he... he never thought a non-magical being would ever love him and he really wanted a friend, so... In order to keep me safe from the building manager and to keep himself sane, he decided he would hide me as a human."

They were quiet for a while; Jimin munched nervously on a strip of bacon while Hoseok finished his smoothie. He thought about when he first met Jimin at the park, then shot his head back up, locking eyes with the false human.

"The, the dog... That was -"

"Taehyung, yes," Jimin nodded, pushing his hair off his forehead. "He's what the magical world calls an Animagus. It's kind of like a werewolf, but he chooses to turn into an animal at will. He's a wolf."

Hoseok nodded, a small smile forming on his face as he looked at his hands. "He - When we first met, he was trying to get Namjoon to play with him."

"Oh, I know," Jimin giggled, a little grin on his face as he set his chin in his palm, "He told me when he came home. 'Chim, I think I fell in love.' And Taehyung is not one to fall in love so easily."
