Keith wasn't kidding. We went to St Ives the next day and parked at the top of the hill, walked down the the centre and then I died. The shops were along cute traditional twisting streets, some barely had enough room for people to walk down, and yet there were cars driving all over the place down the roads. The whole place smelt like pastry and meat as almost every other shop was a bakery selling at least five different types of pasties. The lanes all converged to meet the harbour where in the tide was way out and the boats left leaning on the sand. Some people walked down the harbour to the sea to paddle. There was one store, a knick knack place that sold all things weird and wonderful from fools gold to a vintage Alice in wonderland chess board. I opted to buy a necklace with a fake pearl and Cornish imp. Then we went to Truro. That night I collapsed into bed.

Roused again the next day, we went to East Pool Mine in Redruth. Something of a fan of Poldark, I was thrilled looking around the old mine in the engine room and boiler room. Watching the film about the Cornish mining history was fascinating to me, I couldn't help but feel like such a tourist among the history. Upon learning my love for Poldark, Janet instantly went into fan girl mode and insisted on going to Porthgwara and Porthcurno which were filming location for the series, the latter being Nampara Cove and the former the location where Demelza watched Ross skinny dipping. I couldn't of asked for better weather as the sun reflected back the beautiful blue ocean and at both locations I couldn't help but take pictures and go for a sneaky paddle.

Yesterday was just pure adrenaline. Max, Keith and I went to a GoKart track and Jesus did we get intense. Keith pulled some strings with the manager and so, as it was a quiet day, we had the track to ourselves. And god did we go mental. My adrenaline took me higher and higher until I almost could have sworn I saw Max with wings. By the time I shook myself, I had spun out hitting the tire wall pretty hard and getting a minor whiplash.

Today I was left. Her parents were off seeing friends and we had somewhat agreed to just spend the splay in the beach. I slept in until nine and left Max sleeping in favour of a walk on the cliffs. I took my shoes off and walked barefoot along the soft dry sand, listening to the sound of the waves crashing upon the beach, the fizzing and lapping as they clung and fell from the shore. I hadn't had any dreams lately. I wasn't sure how to feel. On the one hand I was glad as I had no awkward moments of trying to explain why the sheets were wet, but on the other I felt like a part of me was lost. I sighed to myself. I was being stupid. I stared out at the sea, brooding (almost like in poldark). It had only been three days but god did it feel like home. I didn't want to go back in three days, I wanted to stay. I looked back along the shore behind me, taking it all in, when I realised how far I had come. I slowly walked back the way I had came, following my foot steps in the sand. I climbed the rocky stairs barefoot but was forced to put my shoes back on over the gravel pathway. As I got back to the house I saw Max on the porch with a guy. He had black hair, like Max's own with a tall build and broad shoulders which proceeded muscles like something you expect from a marvel action hero enhanced by the flexing by leaning in the wooden beam. I rubbed my eyes to check I wasn't hallucinating. Max saw me approaching and smiled. The guy turn around.

Everything stopped. Everything I had felt over the past five years every night over a possible non existent person suddenly come crashing onto me, like the very waves I was returning from walking by. The jaw. The stubble. The eyes. What the fuck. He had red eyes! I clenched my fist to hide the fact I had a tremor threatening to make me lose control. I swallowed and walked towards them.

"Alice you are in time to meet my twin," Max said, her voice in hindsight was slightly forced, "Alec Knight. Alec this is my friend Alice Roslin."

"Hey."

His voice was awkward but still sexy. How does that work? I mumbled hey back and mentally shook myself before trying to be normal. Normal me hugged everyone I met. So I hugged him. He smelt divine, blue jean and masculine husk. I could barely get my small arms around his body. I closed my eyes...
