It's Wednesday. Finally. The middle of the week! I'm excited because I get to see the live action "Little Mermaid." Im going with my friends from 5th grade: Noah, Jake, Konnor, Addi, and Cheyenne. I walk into school, hoping that the day will pass quickly. It doesn't. It drags on and on and on for all of eternity, but finally it ends and I find myself on the bus again. :)
When I open the front door, Raisin (my doggo) greets me and smiles. (Can dogs smile?) I look at the clock. 4:30. One more hour to go.
I turn off the tv as the front door opens. My mom walks in. "Everest, are you ready?" She asks. I look at the clock. 5:16.
We have 14 minutes to get there. I run out the door and got into our car as we drive down the street. "Mom, I left my phone at the house!"
We made it 2 minutes before the movie started, after having to go back and get my phone. I take a seat while my mom goes to buy popcorn. Noah, Jake and Konnor were all sitting on one side, and Addi and Cheyenne had saved a seat for me. I had to sit... Right. Next. To. Noah. Everyone had always teased me about having a crush on Noah, but noooooooo, he was just a friend. Why couldn't people see that?
I take a seat as the lights dimmed. The Walt Disney logo appears. I set my hand on the armrest, but yank it back in surprise. "Sorry!" I whisper to Noah, who's hand was already on the armrest. He nods, but is focused on the movie. Where is my mom? A few minutes later she comes in, giving me the bucket of popcorn. My mom sits down and I eat the popcorn, sharing it with Noah, Konnor and Cheyenne (Addi and Jake both have braces).
I reach for some more buttery, delicious popcorn and I feel another hand. I look up to see Noah quickly pull his hand from the bucket. I feel my face burn. I try to laugh, but I am actually embarrassed. I wish I never came.
