I was at HEB with my family, and guess who happened to show up. None other then Jake Pardy, the most annoying blonde in the entire flipping world. Well, he could be annoying. Like in 5th grade when he kept insisting that we should date. Ha, good times. Embarrassing, but good. We were just friends, duh. Even he should've known that in 5th grade.
Jake made eye contact with me, and that's when I knew I was toast. Jake waved at me, and I smiled awkwardly and let out a little wave. "Addi, who are you waving at?" My dad asks. "Oh, Jake. You know, the guy who lives on our street. You know his parents." I said, trying to drop the subject. But of course my mom walked over to his parents and they started talking, leaving me and Jake.

"Uh, hi Addi." Jake said. "Hi." I said, pulling out my phone. "Hmmm... ooh, do you have a boyfriend?" Jake asked. "What the flip...? Why would you ask that? That's so random." I say. "Ahem, your trying to drop the subject." Jake says. "I just broke up with my boyfriend." I say. Well, if just means like a month ago.

"Kiss marry kill. Me, Konnor, Noah." He says. "Easy. Kill you, kiss Noah, marry Konnor. Your annoying, so I'd kill you. Noah's nice, so I'd kiss him. Konnors smart, so I'd marry him because I know one day he'll be a billionaire or something." I say. "How am I annoying?" Jake asks, snorting in disbelief. "Jake, have you ever even thought about how other people might see all the weird things you do? Like asking me out in 5th grade? What?" I laugh. Jake looks at me, smiling and letting out a laugh, but for a moment... nah, there was no way he was about to cry. "Addi, come on. It's getting dark out." Mom says, and I follow her out of the store.
