I hurried out of my house and into my mom's car. The day was rather sunny, with some white fluffy clouds in the sky. I buckled my seatbelt and my mom opened her door, got in and closed it. She started the car and began to drive down the street.

When my mom parked the car, I quickly opened the door and saw Everest running towards me. I gave her a hug, then hugged my mom as she got in the car again and left. "So, you're staying for three hours?" Everest asked. "I think so." I said.

"Heyyyyyyyy, have you seen Jake since last summer?" Everest asked. "No.... Wait, he lives in this neighborhood, right?" I replied. Everest nodded, then her face lit up and she grabbed my arm, dragging me down the street with outstanding strength. "Oh no. Everest, I swear..." I started, but we had made it to the house. The house I faintly remembered as Jakes house. Everest giggled, then rang the doorbell and ran off, leaving me standing like an idiot by their front door.

The door opened and I saw Jake. He looked... different. Had he had bangs the last time I had seen him? I couldn't remember. "Hey... wait, ADDI?????" Jake looked at me. I nodded, and tried to back away, but was frozen from shock and surprise. Jake stepped outside and closed the front door. "So, uhh, how have things been? Hows life?" he said. I could tell he felt just as awkward as me. I tried to smile. "Good." I said as I started to relax a little. I had acted like Jake was completely different. A new person. He wasn't, and I really needed to relax.

"Hey..." I spun around quickly to see Everest looking at us, trying hard not to laugh. "Hi." Jake said. "Are you guys still dating?" Everest asked. "NO!!!" I cried. Jake didn't reply. I turned around to look at him, waiting for a reply. Instead he said "Do you still like me?" "No. I like someone else." I said flatly. Jake had to move on. He wasn't over me. He hadn't been for two years. "Come on, Addi. I know you still like Jake." Everest said. I shook my head, "I seriously don't. I have a crush on another guy that actually goes to my school." I replied. "I have a crush on someone else too. Someone who goes to my school." Jake said. I looked towards him in surprise, "You do?!" "Yeah. Her name is, ummmm, Monica." Jake looked down. That name... "Jake, do you know what Doki Doki Literature Club is?" I asked. "Yes." He answered. "Did you steal that name from the game?" "No. I actully like Monica. Shes in my science class and my Social studies class." I was wondering if Jake even knew a Monica. "What does she look like?" Everest asked. "Short brown hair, blue eyes. As I said, she's in my, umm, math class. She's really smart." Jake said nervously. "I thought you said she was in your Science and Social Studies, not math." I replied, hands on my hips. Jake backed towards his door, "Gotta go cause, well, bye!" He shut the door and Everesty glanced at me. Then we both burst out laughing.
