Monday was the day when my world changed. Well, I had said that when Konnor had asked me to the dance. Anyways, let me go back to Monday.
"Hey Cheyenne?" Konnor's voice floated through the air. We were partners for a science project. "Yes?" I asked. "You know I asked you to the dance, right?" "Yes." "We're friends, right?" "I guess. Why?" I asked. He wasn't asking this randomly. He had to be asking this for some reason."Are you single?" "Konnor, what are you going at?" I asked. There was no way he was asking me to be his girlfriend. Well, it was actually very possible. I felt like I was going to faint, but I couldn't get ahead of myself. He might not be asking that. "Would you like to be my girlfriend? I mean, then we could go as boyfriend and girlfriend to the dance." Konnor said nervously. "What about after the dance? Are you just going to break up with me?" I asked.
Inside me a voice in my head, probably my brain, was trying to tell me something. "Cheyenne, stop! This is going to cause you emotional pain! Besides, dating in middle school? Your parents wouldn't approve! And it'll bring your grades down!" That voice was trying to get to me, but my heart was in control.
"No! Of course not!" Konnor looked at me and I knew he was serious. "Fine." I sigh, a soft smile on my face. "Thank you!" Konnor gives me a hug quickly, then blinks, "Anyway, let's get back to our project." He says, the blush still on his tan freckled cheeks.
