Eliza and I were questioned about Bonzo's whereabouts but neither of us had an answer. We both knew he was sick, and we both had seen him the day he stayed home because of his sickness. We love the guy, but he was puking and I'm a little bit of a baby when it comes to vomit so I didn't return again. His hand had been on his stomach and his Z-band was in place and that's all I could provide to the chief. I couldn't answer how he was able to take off his Z-band; it was made of titanium and almost impossible to remove without the proper equipment. Eliza, unfortunately, had been held by the chief longer than I had.
"I was the one messing with the Z-bands last time." She would just say with a jerk of shoulder.
All of Seabrook was on high alert. Everyone looking through their blinds anytime a zombie walked through town. People are freaked out right now; Bucky, cheerleading star of Seabrook, missing. Some zombies are being careful not to go into town without someone with them. No one wants to be out with the risk of someone trying to retaliate. No one has done anything yet, but sooner or later they might start to—people always tend to freak out over the slightest thing a zombie does.
Bonzo hasn't appeared once and it doesn't sit well with any of us. A zombie without his Z-band is a dangerous thing even if it's one of your closest friends.
Zombietown was basically turned inside out, by our own hands, we didn't want a Z-bandless zombie anymore than anyone else did. It meant no one was safe, it meant Addison was unsafe.
I know for a fact that Bonzo would never try and remove his Z-band. Bonzo was a kind guy, he was sweet...and he was extremely trusting.
"Someone forced the Z-band off. Bonzo couldn't have taken it off himself, he'd never allow it..." Eliza reasoned, fidgeting with her hands on her lap.
We sat on the bleachers after school ended, I didn't want to bring Addison into Zombietown and Eliza didn't want to go into town. We'd only see the new graffiti: 'THE FUTURE= GREEN.' Another little something to freak everyone out.
Addison was quiet, curled against my side. She'd been quiet since the moment she found out about Bucky.
"...And Bucky is many things," Eliza continued, "but I don't think after everything we've been through that he would do that? He wouldn't, right Addison?" Eliza had this helpless look on her face that was, is, uncommon to see on her.
Addison shrugged lightly, "I don't know," she whispered, "After last time, I don't think he would. He's our friend...he's family."
"Whoever is behind this graffiti is the one who knows," I say, running my hand up and down Addison's arm. Something seemed to light up inside her as she briskly sat up, her eyes going crazy with a smile on her face that told me that she was up to no good.
"We have to figure out who these people are." She says fervently.
"We?" I say a little surprised, "as in us, sitting right here?"
She nods quickly, "Yes, Zed. We can do something about this."
I chuckle a bit, "You are kind of insane Addison."
"Kind of?" Eliza remarks, looking at me with both eyebrows raised, "If you are looking at her through one eye I suppose."
Addison sticks her tongue out at Eliza and Eliza smirks back.
"We are keeping ourselves out of this, Addison. Your father is in charge of this, not us."
That doesn't seem to quell Addison's enthusiasm at all, "We can help, whoever is tagging the town—"
