"One...two...three...four...five...welcome back." The voice was a haze, a dreamlike melody of numbers weaving through a cloud in her mind. She fluttered her eyes, feeling as though she had been awoken from a deep slumber.
"How are you feeling?" Someone asked. Addison was entirely confused and that feeling wasn't a pleasant one. Something cold touched the back of her neck but she couldn't do anything other than blink.
"Addison? Addison?" Someone called out to her in distress.
"She's fine, calm down."
"You injected her with some crap that made her pass out. So I'm sorry if I'm worried about my friend."'
"Don't worry, she's breathing and she's awake now. What more can you want?"
"Do you want me to answer that honestly or do you want me to say what you want to hear?"
"You can surprise me, sweetheart."
"Yeah, call me sweetheart again and I swear the only sweet thing you'll find is my smile when I break your face."
The only clear thing to Addison at that moment was that that had been Eliza.
"I kinda want to see that." The other person replied.
"Eliza?" Addison murmured wondering just who she was arguing with.
"Addison, are you okay?" Eliza asked shakily.
"Yeah," she rasped, clearing her throat, "I'm okay; just confused."
"Which is a hundred times better than waking up scared and nauseous."
"Zed?" She said with slight hesitation.
"Zed?" He replied with a mocking voice, "Well isn't that disappointing. Is my voice really that high pitched?"
Addison blinked, trying to clear her hazy vision, "Who are you?"
"Not Zed baby." The tall brown haired man winked at her.
Addison looked over at Eliza, "Eliza?" Was Eliza tied to her chair?
"The next time you get the grand idea of following someone I'm going to tie you down."
"That is wise advice, you should follow it. You don't know what sort of people you can find if you follow them. Might end up meeting crazies and then who knows what can happen." He grinned at them like a madman before clapping his hands together so loudly that both girls couldn't help but jump in their chairs.
"Now, before anything else I have to say to you, Addison: you are very beautiful. Are things really serious with your football zombie boy, Zed? I mean what's the deal there?"
"What?"
He waved his hands, "We'll talk about that later. Instead, why don't you enlighten me? What reason did you have that made you want to follow my friend? "
"I'm still very confused. What is going on here?"
He wrinkled his nose, "Yeah sorry, side effects of the anesthesia; usually happens after waking up, you'll be good in, oh I don't know an hour maybe. It depends. And to answer your question, you're here, somewhere, because you guys were poking your cute little noses in things that just weren't any of your business— Hey, Eliza are you single?"
What in the world was going on? Addison was trying to make sense of it all.
"You look so baffled by my question?" He said with delight at Eliza.
"You see the reason I ask you both is because you're both insanely hot and there was something else..." He paused, looking as if he was thinking very hard on something, "Oh yes! I ask because I found this little guy." He held a ring up, waving it at both girls. Addison recognized it immediately.
