The sound of Nini's heavy body hitting the hard floor will forever, echo in my mind. She had a look of genuine shock on her face. When she fell down Michelle could be seen standing up holding the gun I threw her. She was bleeding from her shoulder, that's where Lauren shoot her. All of the guards in the hotel lobby looked at us in disbelief. I ran to Nini's dead body and grabbed her handgun, then stood with Michelle.
Michelle spoke clearly: "If you don't want to die, pack two bags of supplies, water, food, walkie-talkies, and medicine."
They immediately did as Michelle said, running around grabbing supplies. I started to scan the room when on the floor something caught my eye. It was a map of the surrounding area, I looked around the place for anything useful for a hideout when I saw it. A radio station, we could try and contact someone sane. I tugged on Michelle's shoulder and she cringed.
"My bad, hey Michelle look at this."
"It's a radio station so what."
"What do you mean so what, if we can get here we can radio for help."
"Alright, that sounds like a plan, Hey! Where is our stuff!"
The smaller guard from earlier came to us and dropped the bags on the floor.
"Here you go."
Michelle checked both bags and tossed me one.
"Were all good."
Then she looked at the guard: "Don't follow us if you value your life."
He looked like the color was just drained from his face, he replied with a shaky voice: "Okay, can you please go now."
Michelle stared into his eyes and he ran away.
"Jeez, when did you get so scary."
"Probably around the same time I got shot."
I laughed as we walked through the doors. The green mist looked thicker for some reason, I could barely see the end of the block.
"Okay, so Lee what direction are we going in."
I quickly checked the map to find our location: "I believe we should take a left here."
"You believe, that does not sound reassuring."
"Well, I can't give you one-hundred percent, definitely not in these circumstances."
Michelle just looked at me before walking down the street. I was hoping that the radio store was still operational when I heard it, the footsteps. I grabbed Michelle's shoulder and gestured her to stop.
"Ow, that hurts."
I put my hand over her mouth and listen: "Wait I think I hear something listen."
At first, there was a silence then we heard it. The sound of the gravel crunching under its feet.
Michelle whispered: "What in the world could that sound be?"
I started to see the outline of a dark figure in the green mist, I ran and jumped on top of the person.
"Who the hell are you and what do you want?"
It was the man from the hotel and he had a dog with him: "Please, let us go with you, they will kill me there."
Michelle spoke softly: "Sure."
"Wait, What! He could be a spy or just trying to kill us!"
"No, Lee he is coming with us. There's no way we can survive just the two of us "
"Thank you."
"Hey shut up! Michelle, we were the survival duo."
"Grow up Lee we are still the survival duo, just now he is going to tag along."
I huffed and we continued walking.
"Take a right here Michelle."
I just can't believe that she would let him tag along. Am I just acting childish, why am I so upset with this. Just look at them walking next to each other, when the hell did they become friends! I looked at the map we need to take a right, or will we though.
"Lee, directions!"
"Yeah, we are going to take a left here."
We did and as we started walking down we saw a hospital. His dumb dog came right next to me.
"Go away filthy mutt."
The dog whimper and it was so sweet.
"I'm sorry boy just aggravated."
The dog started to circle me and I pet him. What am I doing I'm going to get us back on course: "Hey Michelle we have to take a right!"
I'm going to fix this, for some reason didn't yell back. I started walking to where I last saw her. The guy we let travel with us had her pinned to the ground.
"Get the off her right now!"
He pulled out his handgun and pointed at me.
"Just leave and let us finish."
Michelle looked scared she just shut down.
"No, leave now! She accepted you! She wanted to help you!Now help you get off!"
I was disgusted he started talking again but I blocked him out. I started to fall backward and shot him in the chest. He tried to shoot me but miss.
My body fell and hit the ground, I started to feel extremely dizzy and looked up. There was the radio store: "This is a message to all the survivors in the New York area. Please go somewhere high and try to grab our attention."
I started to black out and I felt my body begin dragged across the pavement.
"Come on!"
