(14) Court Day Part 2

Aaliyah P.O.V

"I've heard enough. Miss. Summers I order you to 6 years in prison without cheese chance of parole"

I fell to my knees crying. Why just happened? Did my whole life and situation just blow up in my face? The judge continued to talk. I heard her sentence Graceland's mom to 10 years, which I as grateful for. At least she's not getting off easily.

The guard came over picked me up and carried me away. Graceland tried to run to me but the guards held her back. The guards took me to the back and into a room. Placed me in hand cuffs and told me to sit. I did as instructed and sat down. They left and I was in there alone. A few minutes later the door opened and a different set of guards brought in Graceland's mother. she looked at me and sighed and I did the same as well. The guard that brought her on looked from me to her laughter and then said; "Try not to beat each other up" He chuckled to himself and then left.

VANESSA P.O.V

I was awakened early Saturday morning. Today was my court hearing.

"Harris wake up, Time to go" I sighed and Rolled out of my bunk. "Im up you asshole"

"Watch it 'fore I write you up"

"You aint gone do shit" I thought but didn't dare to say it out loud.

I stepped to the front and put my hands through the slot. He slapped the handcuffs on my wrists and then I moved back so he could open the bars. Once they were open he took a good of my arm and leaf me to the jail house van. The drive to the court house was rather long. After about an hour and a half we finally made it. We walked into the city house she I saw Avery sitting down on the bench looking her phone.

"Avery!" She looked up and once she spotted me she walked over to me. She was gonna give me a hug when one of the guards shouted at us

"Inmate no touching"

Avery stepped back away from me.

"glad you came" I said add I beamed at her.

"You know I wouldn't miss is mama"

I was gonna say something back when the guards pulled me away and in to the court room. A few guards walked into of me and a few behind. I saw Graceland sitting on her seat already. When she saw me we made eye contact and I just smirked at her she continued my walk to my seat.

Shortly after I arrived the judge came in. We had to do the usual court things before we began.

When we started my lawyers and her lawyers went at it. Must I say it her lawyers were giving us a run for our money. Afraid to lose I did the only thing I knew. I pulled my lawyers to the side

"Use the evidence" was all I said. He looked at me for confirmation. When I nodded yeah he proceeded.

"Judge Hamilton, if I may say so, I have some proof that the plaintiff and the young lady are having an illegal relationship"

I looked over at Grace add her lawyers to see their reactions and just add i thought they were shocked. I mentally high-fived my self her lawyers scrambled to find a come back but it looked like the judge wasn't having it.

"I've heard enough. Miss Summers, I order you to 6 years in prison without chance of parole" I was over joyed. She got time and I didn't. Yes it really worked.

"Harris" I looked up to the judge and saw she was looking at me. I gulped hard.

"As for you" Aww shit here it goes I thought " 10 years no parole" I felt my own face shatter as she said those words. Everything became a blur. My lawyers and everything and everyone else ceased to exist. What brought me back to reality was the guards taking me away. The list me out of the room and down the hall to another room. The site opened and who i saw made me sigh. It was the woman my daughter was with.
