June 16th: Field Day
This was the best non-acadamic Field Day I ever had! Unfortunately, I was the only idiot wearing long sleeves and full on jeans when it was going to be a searing 81 degrees. Gosh damn, Elisabeth, everyone is wearing shorts but you... I chastise myself.
2nd Hour?
I couldn't exactly tell what time it is, but it felt like 2nd hour.
You know those crappy New Year's Resolutions that everyone breaks? I made a couple and faced them.
1. Face my fear of Heights and/or falling.
2. Get to the top of at least one rock wall by December
I was getting ready for the rock wall, strapping on what I call the Atomic Wedgie Harness, when Pascal came up behind me. Oh crap! Act. Natural.
"I just beat expert level in ten seconds!"
"That's good." I sounded monotone, uninterested. Crap, too natural! Try and fake "peppy" mode. "Sorry, just a bit impatient." I apologize. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? I screamed at myself
He seemed to catch the wrong hint. "I'm going to go hang with Will." His voice was calm but somewhat sharpened. He was irritated.
He walked off, as a lady soon strapped me to the Wedgie. I climbed up, the Wedgie pulling me higher. Summer by Calvin Harris started to play.
Fear doesn't shut you down. It wakes you up. I repeated the mantra over and over. Before I knew it, I was at the top!
"Oh my God! How did I just do that?!?" I screamed at the top of my lungs, laughing. I actually finished a resolution! Marina, Cybella, Silvia and Kayla were down below, clapping. I jumped down.
"Nice work!" The lady holding the harness replied.
I was breathing heavily as I walked over, but I was quickly interrupted by Jay. He looked surprisingly brighter with his braces. His smile strewn together with Red, Gold and Black. Hahaha, German pride. I laugh to my self. World Cup pride, I suppose, but I know too well, Brazil is going to win! It is my homeland, after all.
Cybella and Jay were kicking a soccer ball around. Marina, Silvia and Kayla were sitting on the bench, so I sat on the cold concrete, pressing my hands. It felt good since I was holding on to a rock for more than a minute, so my finger strength was diminishing fast.
Alright, somehow, I gotta tell The Squirell how I feel. It's the only way I'll have some closure! This has been grinding down my sanity for quite sometime now. How to pro-. Jay kicked the ball and Cybella deflected the ball, sending it to my forehead. I fall back and start laughing along with Kayla and Silvia. Marina looks unamused. Cybella and Jay looked horrified, which made me laugh even harder.
Cybella and Jay's Expression(in text lingo): 0.O > Mine: X'D
"Oh my god, Elisabeth! Are you alright?!? I'm so sorry!" Their voices were simultaneous, high and fast, making it sound like a demon yelling in my ear.
"I'm...fine...really." I was crying tears of laughter. "Okay...okay. We can keep going."
5th hour?
After being humiliatingly defeated by the King of Obnoxiousness on the moon bounce course, (seven times), they called a code green. Unfortunately, My shoes, drink and glasses were over by cherry trees, so I couldn't run back. You know feels like hell? Standing on hot black gravel for five minutes with socks on, when it's 85 degrees out. We couldn't stand on the grass, so I stood on the gravel that was so hot, it felt cold. There was one thing I learned, standing on hot coals in socks. I need to confess to The Squirell, and fast!
