I slowly woke up from my sleep as the faint sounds of yelling awoke me. I ruffled my hair and stood up, my bare feet connecting with the wooden floor as I could feel the cold from my feet all over my body. I neared the door and I heard it again; my mother screaming, my father throwing a fit.

It all seemed like a nightmare to me. A nightmare that happened time and time again. I turned around and let myself slide down the door, tears quickly escaping my eyes as the sound of yells and insults being thrown around was heard from downstairs. Why couldn't they just get along? If they couldn't stand each other, then why would they bother being together?

I glanced down at my arms and saw the marks I had made on my skin the previous night. I stood up and slowly made my way towards my nightstand. I opened one of the drawers and the faint glint of something immediately caught my eye. Before I could grab the object though, I heard tapping. It was coming from my window.

I looked towards it and I nearly jumped in surprise when I saw Tsurugi. I hurriedly opened the window and he invited himself in. "Y/N!" He exclaimed, hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around him and cried as he ran his fingers through my H/L hair whilst trying to soothe my cries.

We pulled apart after a while and I looked at him, he was giving me one of his rare, and gentle smiles. I gave him a questioning look and he gestured towards the open window. "Come on, let me take you away from here." I smiled and took his hand. He pulled me towards him and he carried me in his arms. "Hold on, okay?" He said before jumping out the window.

"Tsurugi!" I exclaimed, he didn't say anything in return and instead, he continued running. It wasn't long before we started laughing, the people that we passed gave us strange looks, but we managed to catch a few couples giving us fond looks. We ended up in front of a familiar cafe. It took me a while to notice that it was actually the cafe my friend, Rinko, runs. The sign at the door said it was closed but Tsurugi dragged me to the back of the café and opened the back door which was where we entered.

In there, I was met with a surprising scene. Many of our friends were there, partying like the happy teenagers they were. Tenma was dancing with his girlfriend, Aoi, and Shindou seemed to be drunk as hell, while Kirino dragged him someplace away from us. I don't think we'll be seeing him or Shindou for the rest of the night.

Everyone looked as if they were having fun, without a care for the world. I suddenly felt out of place because now that I noticed, I was still wearing my pajamas. But, that didn't stop me from smiling as I saw Kurumada and Shinsuke dancing on top of a wooden table with Rin standing behind a counter not so far from them. Her brother, Ren, was laughing beside her, a glass of alcohol in one of his hands.

"So, how do you like this place?" I looked at Tsurugi before giving him a half hearted smile. "Well, I'm in my pajamas, in a party full of drunk teenagers, so I don't really see what's so enjoyable about this." He chuckled before wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "Don't worry, if it's clothes your worried about, I've got you covered." He smiled as he started to lead me through the crowd.

"Ah! Tsurugi! Your finally here! And I see you brought Y/N?" I smiled when I saw Aoi. She was wearing a loose blouse which was tucked into a black skirt that reached her knees. She wore a simple pair of black heels and a few silver accessories to finish her look.

While I was observing how cute she looked in her outfit, Tsurugi and Aoi were talking, although I couldn't hear anything. Maybe it was the crowd, the music, or I just wasn't paying any attention. "Y/N?" I shook my head as I was met with worried looks from Aoi and Tsurugi. "Sorry! What were you saying?" She raised an eyebrow before looking at Tsurugi. "Can I put makeup on her?" She asked excitedly. I knitted my brows in confusion, 'Makeup? What the hell are they talking about?'

"Well, if she's okay with it." Tsurugi shrugged and it seemed like Aoi took that as a sign to lead me away and into the crowd once more. We soon arrived at the booth Rin and Ren were, and just like earlier, Rin was manning the booth while Ren was drinking his ass off.

"Oh, Y/N! Good lord, what on earth are you wearing?" Rin gasped in horror. She shook her head in disbelief. "No, that will certainly not do." She said as she lead me and Aoi to the back room.

Now that I got a good look at her, she wasn't wearing her usual cafe uniform, rather, she was wearing something more fit for a party.

She wore a black crop top with an oversized denim jacket, and a red plaid low waist skirt that ended below her knees. She wore a pair of disruptor shoes that made her appear taller. "Girl, you need a serious make over." Rin declared after directing a glance at me while she was busying herself with searching for some clothes in the closet she kept at the manager's office─her office in other words. "Here, wear this." She threw some clothes at me and I stared at it.

"Well? Those are Chou's clothes. They should fit you. If not, well, I heard oversized is the new trend." Aoi smiled and pushed me towards a wooden divider. "Hurry up!!"

"Okay, okay." Sighing, I stripped myself of my pajamas before I started on putting the clothes Rin gave me. The outfit consisted of only a black sleeveless top and a striped, navy jumpsuit. "Seriously? You want me to go out wearing this?" I heard Rin say something but I couldn't understand. I walked out the bathroom feeling exposed. "What? Are you seriously thinking about partying while wearing some long sleeves? Girl, your in my house." I facepalmed. Rin walked towards me and handed me a simple pair of brown heels. "Alright then, if your done, then stop standing there and come party with us!"

The rest of the night came by in a blur to me, but I surely had fun. It was nice to just take a break and not worry about anything. Tsurugi was with me all night, and as my boyfriend, he made sure to keep all the drunk partygoers off me while I had fun. The next morning, I awoke to some surprising news. One, I wasn't in my house─I was at Rin's apparently.

And two, my parents were caught by the police after a concerned citizen reported them for child abuse─the concerned citizen being none other than Tsurugi─I didn't want them to leave me. No matter how much they argued, they were still my parents. But they're gone now, and I can't do anything about it. Rin was kind enough to take custody of me until one of my relatives come and take me in.

During the whole scene, my parents were yelling and screaming in denial, and honestly, I didn't know what to feel. Although I was sure that their screams annoyed me. Tsurugi came towards me. "Hey." I glanced at him briefly before staring towards the police cars my parents were in. He hooked an arm around my shoulders before he rubbed my arm in an attempt to comfort me.

An air of comfortable silence draped around us. Tsurugi pressed his lips against my temple, just as a single lone tear slid down my cheek.
