Don't judge me, but this is my new favorite song. It's called "One Foot" by Walk The Moon.

"Derek slipped me a strange substance that'll kill me if I leave the country during the war. I know he has something much more nefarious up his sleeve. You should find out what it is."

"The police could help us, Selena."

"No, they're with the Hunters, and plus, they can track our location."

"You're right."

"My mom is a sheriff of another supernatural town in Virginia. It's called Blood Moon Falls. I bet she'd help." Jennifer says, pulling up the town's website.

Where had I seen that name?
Blood Moon Falls? Hmmm...

"We leave in two days. I'm freeing you tonight, and teaching you all I can about control."

"You got it," I unlock the cage door, and Selena scrambles out. "Thank you. I promise to behave."

"Let's head back to my room, and plan some things out."

"We need to pack food and drinks for the road trip. Pack some clothes in a bag, and anything else you may need. How long will it take to arrive there, Jennifer?"

"Huh?" She looks up from her phone. "Oh, uh, two days tops."

"Try to pay more attention please."

"We should leave tomorrow, if it's gonna take two days."

"Smart thinking, Selena. That might work."

"Thanks." She blushes, and looks away.

"You girls can sleep here with me tonight, if you'd like. We should leave at five am. I'll leave a note for Derek in the morning."

"Which car do you want us to take? Personally, I think the perfect car for this trip is the Jeep Wrangler in the right-hand corner of the garage."

"We can take that one."

"Sounds like a great car."

"Go to your bedroom, pack a bag, and come right back." Jennifer leaves the room, shoves some clothes into a bag, and hurries back to my room. "Where's your room, Selena?"

"This was my room." Her eyes glaze over and she loses herself.

"You can borrow some of my clothes." I quickly pack a bag with enough clothes to last us for a few weeks, plus a few thousand dollar bills.

We all bunker down in my bed with the hellhound between Jennifer and I.
The quarter moon shines through the large oval windows, giving us a full view of the garden.
