Once I'm within the safety of the mansion, I race up to my bedroom, and find a box laying on my bed. Inside was a note from someone called Amelia, and my dress. The note said, 'Luna, meet me in the circle quad for your ride to the dance. Also, don't forget your mask.'
I snatch up the turquoise and black mask, sliding it onto my face. I slip into my dress, put some black heels on, and make my way to the circular quad.

The irritable feeling in my lower region only got worse to the point where it made me grumpy.
I occasionally snapped at Amelia, only to have her laugh and roll her eyes. She knew what I was going through seeing as how you could smell it.

Amelia, my new friend and chauffeur, is driving me to an unknown location. I was already wearing my turquoise dress and mask, plus Amelia was dressed in similar attire. I also began to wonder where my friends were, and how they'd get there.

"Your friends got a ride from my boss. They're in good hands, Luna."

I sighed and leaned against the window, trying to not think about the pain.

The whole day, my stomach had been churning with nervousness, and my heart never seemed to have a constant pace. I wanted to see Tristan badly, but at the same time, I wanted to hide away.

The car rolled to a stop in front of the Redstone Manor Hall. An enormous building with three floors and an immaculate ballroom.
People in ballgowns and suits were already pouring into the main entrance. Amelia got out of the car and opened my door. I laughed. "Why, thank you."

Amelia grinned and winked at me. She offered her arm and we linked our elbows together. There was something melodic about the way our heels clicked on the pavement.
She led me through the massive, main doors and up a mountain of stairs. Then, she vanished. I was alone, looking down at one of the most beautiful things I'd ever witnessed.

The ballroom was truly magnificent. There was a large stage that had an orchestra near the back, and the floor was decorated with colorful skirts and the atmosphere filled with laughing and happy chatter. The whole manor must've been invited.
Suddenly the room went silent. A wave of quiet rushed over the people. They all turned their heads and looked at me. I impulsively took a step back and blushed profusely under my mask. My eyes darted around, and caught Derek on stage with a microphone in hand. "Everyone please give a warm welcome to your future Luna, Katy." The words were almost cheesy, but his tone was collected and completely sincere.

I blushed again as a roar of applause erupted throughout the building.

I felt fingertips pressing into the small of my back. I bit my lip and arched my back ever so slightly at the touch. It was Tristan.

"Hello, love." I looked up at him, finding it hard to breathe.

His long, black hair had been pulled neatly into a ponytail. He wore a perfectly tailored suit that fit him magnificently. Yet all I could think about was ripping the suit off him.
His eyes twinkled under the sleek, black masquerade mask he wore. He offered his arm out to me and I took it, glad to be near him again.

The room had a hush over it as Tristan guided me down the stairs. I felt like I was royalty, until it dawned on me that I was. In two days, I'd be crowned as Luna. These were the people I'd lead and protect in battle. This kind of thing only happened in fairytales.

As Tristan and I reached the bottom of the stairs, the floor cleared for us in the center. Ah, yes. The cliche first dance between the princess and her prince. In this case, an Alpha heir to the throne and his Luna.
