I had always heard the antics of Callin Constancio, like how she was so rude to teachers that she made two quit. At the End of Year Dance, the young physical education teacher kissed her, but she managed to stop him from getting the sack. And she had once broken her ex boyfriend's nose because he cheated on her. She was also my best friends cousin. By the time I joined the school Callin Constancio had left and joined a Boarding School in London.
After two years of being away Callin Constancio was making a return. She was kicked out of the Boarding School and the only people who could look after her were Alex and his family. It was a mystery to me where her parents were. Alex never told me. Alex was under lots of stress and thats why I was currently beating him at his best game on the play station.
"Why are you so nervous about Callin coming back?" I asked
Alex sighed and put down his remote. "Callin was recklessly stupid and made enemies. The day before she left she punched Ian Walker and broke his nose. She was uncontrollable, going to the boarding school was the best thing for her sadly. I missed her terribly, there has always been something missing since she was gone. We got on so well..."
He walked slowly towards his desk and opened a draw taking out a photo frame then shoving it into my hands. There was Alex grinning with his arm around a girls shoulder, Callin. She had long wild mane of dark brown curls trailing down her shoulders, her big grey eyes wide with a grin on her face. She wore one of Alex's hoodies and it was too big for her but it made her look cute. She looked happy and didn't seem like the trouble maker she was described as.
Alex read my mind and sighed "That was when she was twelve. This was when Callin was happy..."
He was cut off by the front door opening. There was loud booming footsteps running up the staircase, in a matter of seconds Alex's bedroom door swung open and there stood Callin Constancio. She leaned against the doorway with a hand on her hip with a smirk on her face. I looked at the girl in the photo then back to Callin and raised an eyebrow. Her wild hair had been tamed and now was dead straight and ran near her waist. She didn't look as curvy and chunky as she did in the photo, she was stick thin. Her skin was as white as snow as she was in England. The only way you could tell that this was Callin Constancio was by her big grey eyes.
"Cal!" Alex gasped as he pulled her into a tight hug.
A moment later Alex let go and eyed Callin up. He didn't look happy at all, he scrunched up his forehead.
"You have lost loads of weight, Callin, are you okay?" Alex questioned
Callin looked blankly at Alex "Lets just face it, after what happened I needed to improve myself..."
When Alex began to protest Callin cut him off with a flick of her hand and turned to look at me. She eyed me up slowly before a small smile tugged at her lips.
"Callin this is my best friend Austin... Austin, Callin." Alex said introducing us.
"Austin... I think we will get along just fine." She smirked. I raised an eyebrow confused.
Callin then flopped down on Alex's bed and started flicking through pages of her magazine. I already knew one thing. That this girl was definitely confusing.
