Austin's P.O.V
Today was the day of the dance. I had been so busy with work, I had forgotten to ask Callin to go with me. When Alex told me that she wasn't intending on going, I had gone out to a dress store and picked out one that would look perfect on her. I had sent my Mom round to give it to her, as I knew she wasn't happy with me.
Tonight was my final night in Texas before I moved to Miami; my management thought that now I had signed the contract there was no point in waiting around. It was my last night with my friends. I knew that I wouldn't be seeing them for a few months. Hopefully they wouldn't forget me...
The door opened, revealing my Mom with a tear stained face. She pulled me into a tight hug, sobbing onto my shoulder.
"I got there and the house was surrounded by police! When Callin had been going to parties, someone had been drugging her drinks, and doing vile things to her while she was knocked out. He has been leaving her notes and sending her text messages; the poor girl has already been through enough and is in pieces. He assaulted her last night at her birthday party." My Mom cried.
Anger filled within me. I should have been there to protect her. I should have been looking out for her. I just wanted to get that sick pervert and kill him.
"Do the police have any ideas who it is?" I muttered.
She nodded her head. "The police have had a report that her ex boyfriend has escaped from the rehab facilitation in London. He isn't mentally stable and he's obsessed with her; she can only leave the house if she has someone with her. She said she will try and make it tonight."
Callin had ended things with her ex boyfriend Caine only a few weeks ago. That would have given him time to get angry and take a plane to San Antonio to find her whereabouts. I just wanted to protect her, she didn't know how much I cared about her.
"Austin, she's a strong girl. I don't want you worrying about her while you are in Miami. She has Alex and the boys looking out for her, I am sure she will understand why you won't be here." My Mom said sternly.
I nodded my head but didn't agree. Alex and the boys clearly hadn't been looking out for her. I just wanted to shout at them for being so stupid, and not caring. But that would make my a hypocrite as I had done the same, and I hated myself for it... she didn't deserve something like that to happen to her. She was beautiful and in my eyes, vulnerable.
The phone began ringing. My Mom gave me a last glance before going to answer it. Going upstairs, I began to get ready for the dance as the group were leaving, getting their photos done at our house.
I found myself hoping that Callin would be joining me...

Everyone had turned up, except Callin. I Shouldn't have expected her to turn up after what she had recently been through, but I wanted to at least see her before I left for Miami. Luce had come with Zach. Luce actually scrubbed up well, wearing a long black gown with a slit up one leg. Alex and Sarah had turned up separately and stood at different ends of the room, avoiding each other.
"What happened between you and Sarah?" I asked.
Alex sighed. "She thought I had meant that the kiss altogether had been a mistake, but it was the timing as she was drunk. I really liked her, and just wanted the kiss to be perfect!"
I could tell Alex really liked Sarah, he usually wasn't interested in girls and never bothered to get involved with them. But as soon as he had laid eyes on her, he had obviously been attracted.
"So tell her that, I am sure she will understand!" I reassured.
Alex gave me a nervous smile before slowly making his way to her. I was going to watch but the front door opened. Callin stalked into my house, making my heart stop. She looked stunning and had worn the dress I had picked out for her, a silver dress with a strapless top. The top half glistened as it was caked with diamonds, the skirt short showing off her legs.
