Part 2: A Mission in the North

"Hya!"

"Yuu, you don't have to add sound effects whenever you swing your weapon," said Ren.

"It pumps me up!" Yuuichiro said as he attacked several lowlife vampires at once.

"Whatever works. We can't be letting our guards down. (Y/N), if Guren and Shinya can't get anymore information on Matsuki's whereabouts, we might have to step away from JIDA ourselves and go after her." Said Shinoa to you.

"Right." You agreed. You pulled out one of your weapons and shot the vampire that Yuu was currently attacking. One shot and it was instantly dead.

"Nice shot, (Y/N)!" cheered Yoichi.

"Humph, she only killed it because I weakened it for her," Yuuichiro pouted.

"(Y/N), I hear that you'll be going on another mission with Ryuuto's squad soon," said Kimizuki.

You nodded your head.

"What does Guren think of that??" asked Shinoa with a joking and mocking look on her face.

You rolled your eyes and started walking away.

"Oh come on, (Y/N)! I was only joking." Shinoa hollered after you. You ignored her and kept walking.

"Got anything?" Guren asked Shinya as he walked into his office.

"Only something small," said Shinya.

"Small is better than nothing," stated Guren.

Shinya continued, "Some people told me that they saw a small group of vampires a few towns north of here. One of them was holding a cloth and one of the people who saw them said they caught a glimpse of some gold underneath it."

Guren looked at Shinya with a blank face.

"Shinya." Said Guren.

"Yes?" Answered Shinya.

"That wasn't small. That was tiny."

"But it was something," said Shinya hopefully.

Guren sighed. "You're right, Shinya. It is something."

"I'll go and check it out. I have a mission there soon anyways," said Shinya.

"Really? Who's going with you?" Guren asked, slightly interested.

"I'm going with Ryuuto's squad and (Y/N)," said Shinya.

Guren looked slightly disturbed. "Don't let (Y/N) know anything when you investigate."

"Why? Shouldn't she be involved?" asked Shinya.

"If Mikaela is involved, then she might get reckless." Answered Guren.

Shinya nodded his understanding before leaving the room.

*Beep, beep*

You hit your alarm clock to turn it off. You sluggishly got out of bed and wondered around your room to get ready for your mission.

"Why do we have to get up so early?" You asked yourself.

You went outside and saw Shinya talking to some people in front of a JIDA car.

"Where's Ryuuto's squad?" You asked Shinya.

"Already there. There was a small attack there, but everything is fine now. They'll meet us there."

"So we'll be taking that car?" You asked, pointing to the JIDA car behind the two of you.

Shinya laughed. "No. We're supposed to, but no."

"Then how are we supposed to get there?" You asked, confused.

Shinya started walking and gestured you to follow.

You started laughing when he pointed out the car you'd be taking: A bright red, fancy sports car.

Shinya got in the driver seat and hot-wired the car.

"Get in." He said jokingly.

You happily complied.
