Ah Mid-way City. A city just trying to rebuild everything after the Enchantress attacked the city and a rag-tag team of unknown people were able to stop her. But in this city there was a certain girl, this girl was named Evie Lester. And she is the leading female role in this story.
Evie Lester is a girl, a girl with fiery red hair and pale green eyes. Her white skin shines in the sun light so bright it'll hurt someone's eyes. She was about five feet and two inches and was a little on the curvier side of the spectrum. Almost every day she would wear the same thing, a green beanie, a graphic t-shirt with a blue hoodie over that, ripped jeans, and purple vans.
Now Lester is alot like other superheros, as she is an orphan, who was put up for adoption, but never adopted, she knows why she wasn't adopted though. She was adopted because she was different. She wasn't like the other children in the orphanage who were in there because either there parents were dead or didn't want them, she was there because a superhero put her there. After Batman came to her rescue, saving her from her abusive father, she was put in the Angel Wings orphanage. She stayed there until she was fourteen when a worker at the orphanage realized her gift. That gift was her mind and intellect. She could memorize and remember anything, learned quickly and had already skipped several grades.
By the middle of her senior year, when she was about twelve, the principle of the school brought her into his office. He told her that her SAT score was the highest in the school and that if she passed her final she would go to any college of her choosing, with full tuition and full housing. Before he said anything else she asked to have the final. When he gave it to her she quickly grabbed a pen off the desk and began the test.
Well, she got a ninty-seven on the final and was allowed to go to any school she wished to go to. And out of all the schools in the world she chose Mid-way City university. Her reasoning behind this? They had a wonderful medical and science center, and because Evie wanted to be a doctor, she decided to go there.
Another option was Gotham University, in which Evie couldn't turn down fast enough. You see, that's where Evie's life was. It's where her father beat her. It's where her mother was murdered. It's where she had to fight for every morsal of food she ate and for every dollar She had to her name. She couldn't get out of Gotham City fast enough. And so at the age of thirteen, Evie Lester became the youngest person to ever attend Mid-way City university. So here we are, in Mid-way City, where Evie Lester is top of her class in the medical and biochemical field.
But as in ancient Romanian literature, every hero must have a tragic flaw, Evie's being her severe clumsiness. It doesn't matter what it is, whether it be a person, an animal, a door, her own feet, or even air, Evie Lester will find some way to trip over it. And that's how this whole adventure starts, with our heroine tripping over something, and the reaction that it caused.Evie was walking through the chemistry lab with some toxic chemicals in her glove covered hands. Because of her project she was working on she was permitted to have some of the dangerous chemicals that students aren't usually allowed to had, but Evie was able to persuade the right people otherwise. As she poured in the chemicals, that went well, no catastrophe so far, but here's where the chaos begins.
Evie begins to walk towards her folder with all her notes when she felt her beanie begins to slip from its place on her head. Thinking that she could walk and fix it, she began to fiddle with it, until it got to where she liked, but then, her foot slipped out from under her. As everything moved in slow motion. Evie, in a desperate attempt to stay standing, grabbed the first thing she possibly could, A Bunsen burner. Now, not only was Evie falling, she was falling with fire. Her other hand flew up and tried to catch something else, which just happened to be, a test tube full of mercury. Evie let go of the test tube as soon as possible, but not fast enough so that it wouldn't fall.
