Evie walked into the cave, it was late at night and she was coming to talk to Sarah, Grace and Dick about last night's mission. She already knew something was off when she didn't here the voice coming from the Zeta Tube, which scared her slightly. She then became more scared when she didn't see any lights on, or anyone in the cave. There was a small glow coming from a corner, which caused Evie to be drawn to it like a moth.

Once she got there she saw, two Red Tornados. And the flame was coming from a cave made completely from fire, incasing Miss Martian and Aqua Lad. The floor was covered in water and Wally, Sarah, Grace and Superboy were stuck in ice.

She began to gasp until she felt a hand cover her mouth. She felt hot breath on the back of her head. "They hear everything that's fairly loud, we need to get out of here."

She then was being carried out of the room at a fast speed, she was then thrown up into a vent system. She began to look around when she saw the figure closing the air vent and turning around. She squinted her eyes, trying to figure out who saved her. A small holographic screen came up, casting light on the two. She finally found out who her kidnapper was, it was Robin.

"Robin?" Evie whispered, crawling closer to him, "What's going on?"

"Not sure. I came in here with Arti, and I don't know where she went." He mumbled.

"Oh, I didn't see her down there with the others."

"That's what scares me." He mumbled. Dick then glanced at Evie, "I think it's just me and you against those two."

"Oh, okay." Evie said, fear in her voice.
"What are we going to do? And more importantly, what are they going to do to our friends?"

"Right before you got here they said they were going to raise the water, drowning El, Hunter, KF, and SB. The fire is going to slowly kill Miss M. and Aqua Lad."

"So this is life or death?" Evie said, her voice shaking.

"And their blood will be on our hands." Dick replied.

"What can we do?" Evie asked.

"Me and Artemis had a plan to do an electromagnetic pulse throughout the cave an-"

"And one pulse from the energy source would short circuit the robots!" Evie exclaimed.

"Exactly." Dick smirked at her as he pulled out a cylinder. "I was going to put this in one of the mountain's batteries, that should make a electromagnet right?" Dick asked.

"Should." Evie said quietly.

"Hey, you okay?" Dick asked putting his hand on her shoulder.

"I just, I never thought that the lives of my friends would be in my hands so quickly." Evie mumbled.

"Hey, I know how that feeling, but you need to look past it." Dick said as he sat next to Evie as she curled into a ball.

"Robin, are they going to die?" Evie asked in a shaky voice.

"I, I don't know, but if we hurry none of us will have to worry." He and Evie slipped out of the vent and began to sneak around the cave.

They made it to the battery and Robin put the cylinder into a slot. He then mumbled and stood up.

Dick looked at the short red-head, "It's not going to work." He said sadly.

"What?" Evie whispered, "Why not? Did you put it in wrong?" She walked over and pulled it out. "You men are always messing crap up."

"Evie, I didn't put it in wr-" Dick was then interrupted.

"Yeah you did, it was upside-down dumby. Plus with plus and minus with minus."  Evie mumbled. "But, it isn't big enough, it needs a small metal strip to work." That's when everything clicked in Evie's head. "I could turn my hand into metal and stick a finger between the battery and the outlet, that should work."
